Florida starfruit fruit fly

Has anyone had issues with fruit fly worms in their carambola? I found some worms in starfruit that dropped to the ground. I'm wondering if it's from carribean fruit fly. It seems like everything I grow gets worms:(

In my experience I've only seen worms in carambola from the ground or that have been sitting outside rotting, never in those picked from the tree.
