Honeycrisp - Need scions or tree
« on: June 28, 2020, 03:21:37 PM »
We got the sad news yesterday that our 32 yr old, Michael, passed when he drowned in Knoxville. He is survived by his wife and 4 children.

In his will, he has made the demand that he is buried beneath a Honeycrisp Apple tree in a specified location in Tennessee.

I am in need of either a Honeycrisp Apple tree (bareroot or flushed), or Scion wood.

If anyone has some for sale or even trade, I'm going to need it asap.

Thank you.

If you google it, there are other nurseries that may be able to ship one to you, such as Stark Bro's.
So very sorry, Adam.  I have kids.  I would be devastated, too.

Most of the nurseries won't ship apples after April.

Plus, they'll probably be whips unless specified, and doubt they'd get it here before mid July.

Nonetheless, I did already message them this morning to see options.

If you haven't found it I'll check what I have when I get back to Charlotte NC. I'm in TN right now. I have so many varieties I can't remember but I think I bought one from starkbros a few years ago.

One has been secured by enthusiast Joseph Kanach out west and he is sending it over.

Thanks so much for the help everyone.  Some folks sent some scions also, and since we are going to be doing a site in both Tennessee and Alabama, I will utilize the scions on our new farm here with the apple trees I have already, and will probably add extras as part of thr memorial.

Everything is much appreciated.
