California Gold/Ice Cream Banana

I've read that both California Gold and Ice Cream banana can tolerate zone 8a, and was curious if anyone here had experience getting them to fruit in colder zones. I'm hoping to get them to fruit in my area with some overwintering.

California Gold is the most cold hard fruiting banana that I know of. After that would be Dwarf Namwa. Good luck!
