Feel for you, I've seen floods in my area of Florida too. Right now I'd pay good money for a few decent thunderstorms. Right now my backyard looks like West Texas back in the 30's Dust Bowl era.

Lo and behold I'm getting some decent rain right now, moved in from the Gulf and so very badly needed.

Meanwhile, I'm in east Orange county and we have barely gotten a drop, most of which evaporates as soon as it hits the hot ground.

Yes, i'm thankful we finally got some as i call it when talking with landscaper friend- liquid gold
What gets me is how dry lawn becomes sand. You wonder how the heck grass was so nice there?
Before dinner & downpours last night I threw fertilizer at 3 avocados (more of a privacy hedge) & a Flame grapefruit.

That's some terrifying weather when it happens.
If I want rain, I just wash the car, works every time.
