Hello to everyone!

Just wanted to give you an update on the website.  It's getting closer to being operational, but it's still under construction for the now.  You can still view lots of pictures, and some information on the website, so feel free to browse around.  I will be gradually adding to the website as the days go by.

Also, for those who are able to pick up plants locally, I have some nice 3 gal seedling (about 3ft tall) Abius for $40, and I have some 3 gal Red (Hybrid) Jaboticabas in 3 gal, about 2.5 ft tall (from soil), for $40 each, (should fruit in 1-2 yrs), and some nice 7 gal, about 4ft tall (from soil), for $75 each (should fruit this year, or next year!).

thanks once again to all of the members who've been so supportive of my new nursery!

Sincerely,

Adam

Sorry I don't have ross sapote seeds now!

Right now I have scions, seedlings, small grafted plants, and inverted root grafted plants!

I'm hoping to have seeds by the summer or fall of this year!

Adam, that's cheap by CA standards. Too bad it's not shippable to some states. I'm interested in some scions.

Thanks Fyliu!

I promise I'm working on the CA shipping (and the rest of the nematode quarantine states)...I'm trying to be ready by this Fall....so I can ship before the winter chill.

The good news is that my UPS shipping rates will be virtually unbeatable... we are able to give a 30-50% discount on UPS shipping services.

Hello to all,

I have a small batch of Black Sapote seeds,(Diospyros digyna) for $1.50 each with a minimum order of 5 seeds.  I can ship them via USPS first class mail, or by priority mail 1-3 day delivery.

These are pictures of the fruits and the tree.

I've tasted a few black sapotes in FL, and some are not worth growing...they taste bland.  This one is sweet, with an excellent flavor (which I find hard to describe, much like a prepared pudding or mouse)

I believe the seeds are true to type, and the tree that produced the seeds is isolated from other Black Sapotes.

Please send me an email or PM to order some.

Thanks!

Adam

Hey Adam,

At least a couple of my M. aureana grafts are looking good/green still, so I'm very hopeful!  Can you tell me anything about M. tenella?  Do you have it?  Would seeds or scions be available anytime soon?  I'm curious to know your opinion as to the fruit quality, assuming you've tried it.

Carlos,

I'm grafting some trees, but not sure how many I'll have...my budwood supply is very limited.  I will try my best to make you one this year...but it could take me a while.

Adam are you going to have any Big Red Annona for sale?  If you do put me down for one.

I hope your grafts take!!  Please keep me posted!

as for tenella, this is what I've been told....there's more than one type of M. tenella, and one is superior...they are very small fruits, but supposedly very nice to eat...with a sweet flavor...and the tree is exceptionally ornamental...the bark peels in long strands...unlike the other myrciarias i've seen, which peel in patches.

I don't have this tree, and have never tasted it.  It's not high on my list of species to collect soon, but I will eventually end up getting some  ;)

I've tried grafting tenella onto M.jaboticaba...and although the grafts pushed out new growth....they all died.  I'm certain this species is incompatible with M.jaboticaba/M. caulilfora, and similar species.
