u got some of the first seeds from my tree!

they are going to be bearing again soon!

good luck with your seedlings...this is a great fruit, and very beautiful rare tree...that can be fruited in lots of shade, and in a container.

Adam, do you ever graft garcinias?

Yes I have...I might  start grafting some next year....

Luc Mexican, imbe (self fruitful), and maybe some G intermedia, G madruno, and a few others...

Still will be small batches if I graft them.

Limited amount of Kwai muk seeds, direct from Grimal's Grove, in Big Pine Key, FL....$2 ea, no minimum order.

I have heard from experienced Kwai muk eaters, that some trees produce superior fruits.

I have only tasted fruits from one tree, which was the one Adolf Grimal planted at his grove.  The fruit was excellent, reminding me of a citrus, mango flavor...I can't imagine them tasting much better.

2 questions:

1a:  Is vinho tinto (A. reticulata) true from seed?

1b:  If so, when do anticpate seeds being available?

2:  Do you recommend getting a grafted plant for reticulata or doesn't it matter?

Thanks.  I like how the fruit looks, and if it tastes like other reticulata, i am game!!

from what I've gathered this variety is true to seed!

Luc originally collected this variety from the wilderness of Mexico, and planted seeds...the resulting seedlings produced fruits that were like the parent plant.

Also the foliage of this variety is most unique, it doesn't look quite like any other custard apple I've seen.  Leaves seem broader, and more flimsy than other reticulatas.

I hear it is a most delicious fruit!   I'm still waiting on mine to set fruits, maybe next year.  My mother tree flowered but hasn't set fruit yet.  The small grafted trees have also flowered, but I've not let them set fruit yet.

I think a grafted tree is the quickest way to get your own fruit, I don't know where to get seeds.

I have a 15 gal, grafted Harvest moon abiu from Pine island nursery

It got cold damage last year, and died back, now its regrown nicely, but got hit with some wind chill again this year...it's about 6ft tall in the pot.  It has an ugly scar where it died back, and some leaf burn from cold....but otherwise it's very healthy.

This one is a steal $25, local pick up only

Hello friends and forum members, I have some good news...

My nursery is moving!

the new location is bigger, and I should be set up for shipping plants to CA, LA, TX, and AZ soon!

Sorry I will be slow to fill orders and respond to requests until I get settled in.

I will post updates of my progress, right now we're still on the move!
