here's a preview of what's to come later this year...I've been planting lots of seed for shipping to CA (and other nematode quarantined states).

Biriba (Rollinia deliciosa)

rainforest plum (Eugenia candolleana)

red jaboticaba (Myrciaria cauliflora hybrid)

Myrciaria glomerata (a new introduction into the USA, extremely rare species was mistaken for M. glazioviana for many years...now I'm here to set the record straight...I will be offering the true glomerata for the first time in the history of USA...and maybe we can finally convince the other nurseries in FL to label their trees as Myrciaria jaboticaba (Sabara)  ;D

I will be planting many other species of annona, myrciaria, eugenia, garcinia, and more!  Stay tuned...I will have another update in about a month!

yes!  I will be shipping these babies to CA later this year!!

I'm waiting until they're about 10 inch tall at least...and I want a very solid root system, so they are stronger for shipping.

I'm going to be shipping these little plants in USPS flat rate boxes....I can fit about 5-10 plants in a small flat rate box ($5)....and at least 20-30 in a medium flat rate box ($11)...it just depends on what I'm shipping.

coming soon, I have the chance to get some Inga cinnamomea seeds.

If I get enough pre-orders, I will offer the seeds.

I will have to offer them in batches of at least 15 seeds for $48 per batch.  Shipping is via USPS priority mail....or UPS if you want.

Please email me or send a PM if you are interested in pre ordering these inga seeds!

I will post pictures of this species later.

from what I understand it is a most beautiful tree, with flowers that smell like cinnamon....the tree is not an extremely fast grower...i've heard of a specimen that is 16 yrs old, and about 3-4 meters tall.  I believe they reach about 30ft in the wild.  Fruits from seed in about 5-6yrs.  Can handle brief cold exposure, I think the kill temp would be around 25-28F, depending on duration, and age of the tree.  I hear this is one of the best tasting inga species!!  I'd love to taste it's fruits one day!

Perhaps this has been asked before (too long to read previous 15 pages); do you require minimum order?
I am interested in your young Biriba; since you are shipping to California, I supposed it'll grow ok in California, right?
Thanks Adam!

Samu, here is my rollinia in Southern California (Los Angeles County), so it can be done!  ;D with blessings from Adam, I hope that it can fruit soon!

This was when it looked better.. back in December..

now it dropped most of its leaves, but they are growing new ones again.. the picture isn't as appealing as the first one, haha  ;D

This was when I started back last June.. so you can see the difference in less than 1 year's time..

Way to go, Adam. That's exciting to see your business expand. Going to have to restrain myself once the weather warms up, I think I've committed to quite a few plants from you. Your pop up from last year, little seedling, "Little Monster" Rollinia being one of them. I hope it's ready to graft with mature scion soon.

Sweet! Thanks for taking an interest in making it happen and fulfilling the wishes and hopefully orders of many in CA!  Brazil is lucky to have you as one of its greatest foreign born fruit promoters   :P
I really like the idea of shipping many smaller plants like that !
Post some pics when you wrassel those 2 45's into the ground, what a job moving all those big pots to the new spot safely!

Richard

excellent Richard!

I counted about 20 out of 48 that have sprouted so far...the more seedlings that sprout, the cheaper I can make the price....but at most there will only be about 32 seedlings available.

and beware...the price of these little seedlings is going to cause some sticker shock!

(but you get a discount because I O U  :P )

Last Autumn I doubted in you Rollinia sylvatica seeds. Now this doubts disappeared - seedlings are true
R. sylvatica, exactly the same as my "Brazilian" seedling.  :)

thanks very much for the update Alex.

I'm glad the seedling is what you wanted it to be!

In this business it can be very difficult to properly identify some of these species...so it is always wise to question the information you may get from a seed seller!

Please save a seedling for me. I grow the yellow cabelluda and would love to put a real glomerata in my collection. I noticed that tradewinds had the real thing for sale, but it's out of stock. I'd still buy it from FF before them though. :)

Tradewinds was selling the glazioviana as glomerata...a common mistake...but honestly nobody has ever grown the real glomerata in the USA until now.

Here is a thread with some new info about the true Myrciaria glomerata.

I did read that thread. That's how I know. I was perusing tradewinds, and saw eugenia tomentosa, and remember the comment Oscar made on the book by mr. Lorenzi. I was shocked to see they knew the rarefruit, they were selling cabelluda for the real glomerata, and they used yellow jaboticaba/cabelluda for myrciria glomerata(incorrect).

Well that aside, I'm going to order from you, and would prefer a friend to them any day. I brought up tradewinds out of how crazy it was they knew of the rare fruit.

Tropicaliste,

thanks that means a lot to me!

(BTW, If all goes will be offering grafted glomerata trees ASAP..maybe later this year, or early next year...believe it or not, the grafted trees will probably be cheaper than the small seedlings!)

the unhealed grafts started pushing (camu camu on vexator)...
now let's see if they survive.

so far I've had pretty good success sending pre-healed plants, but I still try to warn customers there is no guarantee the plant will survive.

I guess this might prove to be a viable way of getting a rare grafted tree for a discount...but it's definitely a gamble.

I feel like I'm selling scratch off tickets...  :P

The unhealed grafted plants arrived in perfect condition for my customer...now let's see if the grafts take.

Ive coached my customer through the process of caring for the unhealed plant....so I'm confident that we have a good chance for succes.

Will post an update soon (maybe 20-30 days)...if the grafts start pushing that will be a great sign.
