WTB 7 Gallon Cecilove Tree
« on: March 11, 2023, 03:08:00 PM »
Hello,

Looking to buy a 7 gallon Cecilove tree in the South Florida area.  This is a gift for my elderly parents, so any leads are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Besides Alex at Tropical Acres taking orders for 1 gallons there is no one else putting these out there.

I just planted the 1 gallon I received in October. Took at least 6 months for that order.

You can email tropical acres farm and ask. Last year I wanted a 3 gal Xi Yuan mango tree and they had in stock. Shipped it to me too. I know Alex said he would graft a bunch of Cecilove trees since there is such a high demand for it.

I ordered 1 last year. I know Alex got a lot of requests for that variety last year so I've been patient.

Ok thanks everyone.  If it was for me, I'd be good with a 1 gallon.  But my folks are older, and would rather them getting fruits in 2 years on a 7 gallon, than idk even know for a 1 gallon.  I'm guessing would be 4-5 years on a 1 gallon.  In any case, if anyone has a lead for a 7 gallon somewhere, please do keep me in mind.  Thank you :)

I did some Ceci Love grafts less than 2 years ago (August 2021), on an established Glenn. 2 branches took, and each have fruit this year.

Recommended you graft it yourself, onto a 7 g+

Maven, Roblack has a good idea.  If your folks have a mango tree already (and this is an addition) an option may be to graft this variety on to it as a second variety.  I assume they are close to you and you can graft or find someone who can.
The other option as Roblack has suggested is to get a 7 G plus tree in the ground as soon as you can and graft this variety to a couple of branches of that tree.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!  No mango trees in their backyard yet, but  I'd love to start planting in the next month.  If a tree is a 7 gallon, what kind of graft would you guys suggest?
