Rosigold v. Dwarf Hawaiian?

I'm in the market for an early season mango. Location is coastal, zone 11a. I want as many opinions as I can get on these two varieties.

I won’t comment on taste since that’s personal preference but I do think Rosigold is just a bit earlier than the DH.

I can only comment on taste since I grow neither. Dwarf Hawaiian all day long.  It’s no contest in my humble opinion.  DH has a much richer flavor and more character than RG. It’s got a unique spice to it that I haven’t tasted in other mangos. RG is just standard classic mango flavor.  I couldn’t tell the difference between it and a Haden. If that’s your jam, then go with RG. Plus, DW is a cool looking mango that has a unique shape.

Rosie gold to me would compare to a more Asian mango than a Hayden. Albeit that it is of good flavor but not exciting. Where you are located you might get a very early crop than a later one. That is just my guess as far as cropping, the most exciting part of rg is that you would be eating mangos relatively very early before just about any other mango. When it produces a second crop at my location they taste sweeter than first crop.

Personally, I would prefer waiting a few weeks for a better tasting mango.  By all accounts Dwarf Hawaiian is the better tasting mango unless you don't like its flavor profile.  (Disclosure: I've never tasted either one.)

Rosigold does really well for me here in Sebring. First crop in mid-March and 2 more crops over the next 2 month. Also a very trouble free tree as far as disease is concerned. Fiber free, classic Mango flavor.

Rosa can as early or earlier; really liked the ones off my tree this year.

Short internode distance keep it a smaller size. Very easy to keep in bounds as a small tree.

Been holding off on giving my two cents worth but here it is. If you like the classic mangoes then RG is a good choice but I wouldn't necessarily choose it because it's the earliest. The earlest mangoes lack sugar and are Bland. I want to First mango I taste of the season to be spectacular top tier. If you have not  formed an opinion on mangoes such as Carrie and Super Julie. I would hold off until you try those. If you like those dark orange rich spicy mangoes then Dwarf Hawaiian should be your choice. So what really comes down to is which type you prefer classic or West Indian. Dwarf Hawaiian is one of my most highly valued trees

They both are good mangoes, and I will happily eat RGs and DHs while waiting for the primo choices. DH is better to me, and RGs start to get boring after a while.

After a few years I got frustrated with my DH for a few reasons and converted it.
1) they are very very small
2) I personally do not like Spicy
3) they ripen at different times over many weeks and if left on too long get super spicy so I had to go over to this tree 2 times every day to see which needed to be picked.

Bottom line is Island people where they grow spicy Julie and other spicy mangoes love this fruit.
As far as Rosigold if you have at least 7 or 8 other mango trees you gotta have a Rosi for your last one to be able to bring great pleasure early in the season to as many people as you can because the first taste of the season even of a not special mango is special!
