I believe this is a synonym for the Rheedia or Garcinia laterifolia or Achachairu.. I have quite a few sprouting G. laterifolia

Try Jim West at Rio Guaycuyau.  I just received some seeds from him and they are already starting to sprout.  Maybe in a year or so I'll have some extra plants to give away.

if you are still after seeds around christmas I will be swimming in them.
I have about 30 seedlings that i have to throw in the trash soon as no-one wants them and i dont have the room to pot them up.

That is a common error Patrick. Garcinia humilis is the new name for what used to be Rheedia lateriflora, common name hatrack fruit. This is a fruit native to Trinidad/Tobago and Jamaica. The Australians made an error and confused this fruit with achachairu, but these are 2 completely different fruits. I've posted about this many times before. Achachairu should be called Rheedia sp. or Garcinia sp. because it was never properly named by taxonomists.

Yep. If its the Achachairu with the thick skin, or whatever the mixed up thing is we have in Oz, that you are looking for then that is the one I'll have lots of seeds of. If its this hat rack fruit then I aint your man. Its not a rare fruit in its region and should really have a proper tax nom. If the Garcinia/Rheedia experts would just pull their fingers out and clear it up, that would be great.

Oh - Its a bloody good fruit.

I am actually looking for both! Garcinias were a relatively unknown thing to me until i joined the forum. Reading bout them so often however has given me a need to expand the collection.

Hi Bruce,

Don't throw them achachairú's away :( They are truly an amazing garcinia!  8)  If no body wants them...Plant them out in a forest near you and in a few short years, you will harvest them wild achacha's for free ;)  :)
Time is like a river.

Enjoy every moment of your life!

Let's get this right. In Bolivia this fruit, where it originated, is called both Garcinia laterifolia and Garcinia humilis. In Brazil it is called G. laterifolia - Achachairú. In Australia it is called G. humilis - Achacha. Please type into your search engine "achachairu" or either of the scientific names. As the trees are prolific, the fruit travels well, and the flavor is excellent, it should be, in a few years, available in most countries.
