Thanks for the information! The trained trees appear to have lowest branches close to two feet from the ground. Higher density plantings seems to be used more and more in Ag.

mango tree pruning time in that island known as Australia_____Let'r rip!!!

  I do the same way but with an electric chainsaw and my pole mounted chainsaw. I do it quick quick quick and the mango trees look ugly for three weeks. Then leaf back to their God derived God deserved glory...really quick. Do not fear severe cutting backs, once a mango tree has rooted in five years. They are tough trees once past the four year mark

For minor pruning doing it with snips and pole mounted snips like way below>>>

awesome link!  The aussies have it figured out when it comes to keeping trees small yet fruitful.

I need to read more stuff like this as there is very little about here in the States (at least for tropicals)
