I have purchased mine from both sources.
Are you willing to deal with import restrictions?
I bought my tamarind seeds at the local grocery store as fruit in the pods. They sprouted quite easily. Mine bloomed and set fruit for the first time this year in my greenhouse.
As a matter of fact, I have started several of my trees from grocery store fruit. Most of ours comes from Mexico and South or Central America and is not irradiated.

My tree has some fruit on it that will ripen in a couple of weeks. Feel free to send a pm if no one else has them available.
I'm doubting that allspice is easily fruitable indoors. Still waiting on flowers here, and our tree is 9 feet or more, outdoors. Seems it would need more intense light and humidity.
Having said that, I would still go for it, and hope you prove me wrong and laugh in my face for doubting.
Beautiful tree, with useful leaves and sticks. Don't need fruit to be worth growing.
I grill with allspice leaves and sticks in the smoker box. Yum
