Simmonds is a seedling  of Pollock,  a large West Indian variety.  Simmonds fruit are 1˝ lbs and larger. At 8 ft, your not gonna hurt the tree in my opinion.

A quick search will show many posts.  This 2017 post by Squam256 is not the oldest but is a great clue to where you could get the answer to your question.  I suggest you ask him, he is active on the forum and has been fruiting this variety for several years (since 2017).

I got it from Tropical Acres Farm, however Alex was on a consulting job when I picked it up. There was no opportunity to pick his brain. It was blooming when I got it. There are swollen buds, so I had to plant it now. I got trees in containers flushing  new growth that need to harden off before planting.

Unless you are seeing roots at the container drain holes 🕳,  then you can do it now.

Cool. Thanks! I'm thinking about converting my large 10 year-old coconut cream into an M4 and 40-26 cocktail tree or leaving one side coconut cream. It has two main branches forking from one trunk.

Zill 40-26 is not easy budwood to obtain. Tropical Acres Farm isn't offering it. All their budwood is going towards tree production.

Sabra growing here on top of limestone outcrop. Heavy mulch, some compost from my bin keeps it fruiting. ˝ a day of sun 🌞 from the east (not as harsh). 15 years in the ground,  planted as a 3 gallon.

Have a shaded area I'd love to try a red jaboticaba, lots of organic material accumulation in that spot.

For me it's definitely not looking to be a good year compared to last year. I had a bumper crop last year, so many in fact I was running out of people to give mangoes to  ...this year with all the wet, humid, drizzly and damp weather I had during the flowering and fruit set I had powdery mildew on many of the flower pannicles so I think I'm going to have a very "light" or worse crop this year, I'm hoping to get some at least and hopefully not lose them all, but like you said its still pretty early to know how much of the few fruitlets are actually going to survive and mature, maybe another 6 to 8 weeks to see if any of them stay on the tree? My Maha only has a few blooms, not sure what happened but only a few of the branches bloomed and most of the others have new growths instead of flowers, I guess it decided to take a break this year 

I didn't spray this year, lazy I guess... my trees are getting too big to mess with, but my husband says if we have another wet winter next year he will spray sulphur on my trees and hopefully prevent a bad PM attack

Built In agitator is an option for wettable sulfur

Some factors that can cause mango trees to have difficulty fruiting and growing include:
Seeds do not inherit the best fruiting genes from the parent plant.
Another factor to consider is the plant's environment. See if there is enough sunlight and good air circulation. Or whether the water is enough or too much?
Nutrition is also key. Check the soil to see if any nutrients are missing to supplement that nutrient.
