PM sent.

Both trees came happy and healthy, and are now potted in their new larger homes. :) Thanks again!

Let me know when you have cuttings of Honeydrops for sale. Lol.

Laying a big tarp on the ground is a good idea too.

I figured I'd give the air layering a go as an experiment, and I'm letting the new WBM shoots grow so I can root them and use them for grafting later. A friend of mine is now hopelessly addicted to the Aus Green berries and really wants one for his yard, so he'll be getting one depending on which of those two propagation methods works fastest. :)

BTW, the two Red Himalayan grafts I have are doing well and growing decently quickly, but no fruit yet.

I also have Lavender (I think I also got this from you?) and it's grown a ton with two nice, big branches, but no fruit yet either.

The Sangue e Latte grafts are still quite small since they barely grew last year, but are already putting out some fruit. It could be their immature state, but the fruit seem to take a really long time to develop and ripen.

I'm interested, but will the greens be able to handle the dry air here?

For those looking to purchase, the Australian Green is a freaking rock star.

I grafted those with three of Kaz's cuttings two years ago on my WBM, and they're absolutely massive now. They also produce tasty fruit like it's going out of style. It put out one flush last year, and two concurrent ones this year. My yard is absolutely covered with berries. Added bonus, they don't stain.

I'm attempting to air layer some that would otherwise get pruned off now that their flushes are over.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: One Seed Loquat Fruit
« on: May 20, 2025, 03:04:56 PM »
This thread had piqued my interest.

Any more news on your one seeded tree Kaz? Has it maintained that habit since 2021?

Also very curious about Edgar's tree.

8
My understanding is that Sumo is more seeded when it cross pollinates with other citrus trees. If it's self pollinated, it'll be seedless or almost seed free.

9
Pm me your address and how many and I will give you a shipping quote.
If these become available for shipment, let me know. Very much interested.

I bought some seeds for this back when they were first being offered, but unfortunately they weren't viable by the time they got to me through customs.

Done and done.

Are there any of these that have any decent tolerance to salts, clay, and alkaline conditions? Miriam looks to be a candidate?

If you end up getting some of those, let me know. I'd be keen to test them here.

Black and tan, and large Buddha Belly for me please.

You selling any Loquat seeds this year?

Flat broke until Wednesday of next week, but I'm definitely keen to get some if they're still available then.

Getting some fruit on my Lisa graft btw, excited to see how it does. One of the Wegdwoods also successfully took and is growing well.

Budwood appears to be available from UCR, provided you're not in Texas or Florida.

Just because there's so many listed, which of these would be considered top tier "must haves" in your opinion?

Any additional rootstocks that are geared towards growing in the desert and higher pH clay soil?

Temperate Fruit Buy, Sell, & Trade / WTB Pluot scions.

Looking to but some pluot scions. Can't find any in stock elsewhere as it is a bit late for that, but I want to try to graft some while the grafting is good before it gets too hot.

I currently have Flavor Queen/King and Dapple Dandy, looking for others.

Finally some kind of justice happening here.

Most of the seedlings I planted from this survived our Vegas winter without protection. It was a very mild winter this season mind you, but that's still very promising.

Wedgwood, Peluche, Vista White, Estee, and Lisa would be my main one, along with any other known high quality varieties on a decently mature tree.

I have three of those successfully grafted, but they're on babies and it's going to be a while before they produce.

21
You can grow the tree indoors/greenhouse. It will be a valuable tree once your graft takes. Most online nurseries sell what they claim to be a true seedless finger avocado tree for $100 if you're lucky to find it. This is my find of a lifetime as far as avocado varieties goes. Also, second place would be the Hawaiian Russel avocado tree I have. Once I verify the size of that Russell fruit, then I will be sharing scions maybe next year..

Greenhouse isn't an option, but I could try indoors. Having this fruiting in my living room would be lovely.

No tree to graft onto currently though. :\ Would be up for getting one that's pre-grafted unless more scions are available later, but I may get a store-bought seed going to graft onto myself.

Does this one have more of a dwarfing habit or is it full size?

22
This really, really, really makes me wish I had a snowball's chance in hell of growing avocados here.

Good luck to any that nab these scions!

23
Maybe will have scions in a few years
I gave some plants away to some friends in Cali so maybe they’ll have scions later too😌
But tbh it’s just for the looks
I hear the fruit is like a regular mulberry lol nothing astounding

I'm fine with that. Having some unique foliage on my Frankenberry tree will look nice.

24
I'm looking for these as well.

A Natural Farm is another great plant seller and everything I've gotten from them has been very healthy with great size.
