Tropical fruit in SF
« on: April 22, 2024, 11:34:38 AM »
Hi guys&gals, I'm looking for a great place to buy tropical fruit and hopefully not break my bank. Normally I do not like the bananas we have here in SF, but I just travelled to Hawaii and fell in love with apple bananas and would like to hopefully enjoy them here.... but on the first glance, i cannot seem to find them here. Maybe someone has a secret spot?

What about lyche, longan or maybe different mango types? (I know they're seasonal here but still)

Asian grocery stores are best imo. It's mangosteen season overseas so they're fresh right now.

Definitely check Berkeley Bowl in the conventional section, I have seen Apple Bananas there often. Look for "Manzano" in the name.
