I would like to graft a mandarin seedling onto a sour orange seedling. Should I remove leaves from the scion, the rootstock or both? Or leave the leaves on the scion but remove leaves from rootstock?

Looks like spider mites to me.

I just brought my trees indoors for the winter. I am considering grafting some of them. Can I graft now or should I wait until spring?

I know that in ground citrus needs fertilizing 3 times/year, but what about my container citrus here in Massachusetts Zone 5b?
What fertilizer and how much should I use? I have been using Jack's 25-5-15 Professional Fertilizer (1/2 Tsp/gal H2O) every time I water.

I grow my citrus and fig trees in pots and bare root the trees after I get them from a vendor and before putting them into 5:1:1 mix or gritty mix. I do this because the mix that the trees come in is usually different than the mix I put them in. The mixes that I use are fast draining while some of the mixes that the trees come in are not (they contain a lot of peat). I found that repotting the trees with this kind of mix is problematic because the water drains around the peat based mix in the root ball and does not penetrate into the roots.
I have bare rooting my trees for years without problems.

I just got a beautiful lemon aid tree from Madison Citrus nursery. It is about 3 ft tall with no branches. I want it to form branches. Should I just let it grow and see what happens or should I remove the apical portion to encourage branching?

Does anybody use the gritty mix? (Equal parts pine or fir bark, Turface MVP and Grani-I-Grit. It supposedyl outlasts the 5:1:1 mix.) I have used it and it seems OK, although the pots are very heavy.
I also use the 5:1:1 mix but some of my trees have gotten root rot in it, so am considering switching to gritty mix.

I dislodge soil by quickly moving the tree up and down in water. Using fingers might break more fine roots.

What would cause only two branches, and not the rest, to grow so quickly?

I water so that a little comes out of the drain hole.
Ian Tolley, the Australian citrus expert, in one of his videos, says to use just enough water so that a little comes out of the drain so that fertilizer is not drained away.

Millet, the article to which you provided a link only mentions the studies the company did with providing a reference to where these studies might be published. I strongly suspect that it is marketing hype.
