No reviews yet. Wouldn't hurt to message the seller and ask them about it. Heck, the might even be a member of this forum and would be interested in making their case for the new variety.

$150.00 plus 41.00 shipping = $191.00 for a kumquat tree.  I'll wait Madison Nursery has the variety.

Was the plant smuggled from China? Just curious about citrus diseases. Otherwise if you guys really wanted it we could do a group buy, and cut scions from it. Would need a growing season or two though to put on some size for scions. Yeah maybe better to wait haha

The small oil vessels bodes well for poncirus crosses.

For crossing purposes does it behave like a diploidor tetraploid?

That is a bit too much money for me to risk it being fake.  If I see somebody here confirm fruiting it that would give me a bit more confidence.

It looks like the fruit is as large as a chicken egg according to the pictures.   That is actually a negative I think, I like the bite size kumquats where you can eat the rind & flesh at same time with no mess.  The "Red Lime" kumquat hybrid is like this, it tastes okay but it is very messy to eat a whole one.

It’s not fake, I talked to the person growing this and it’s 100% real. Some of them are already flowering and are grafted.

One more variety to add to the collection...

Definitely waiting until this is sold from a more trusted vendor at a better price though.
Continuing my journey to disprove those who say "You can't grow that in the desert" since 2013.

Probably as a tetraploid, as the juice sacs are of the same layer as embryos.
