Thank you for that. Luckily all my friends and family in the flood area are safe. Really tragic situation unfolding. Lots of children and nuclear families unaccounted for. Central Texas is very rocky. When we get a lot of rain in a short time the water has nowhere to go. We are South (downstream) of there. Waiting to see what happens.

Their growth os measured on the geological time scale. I am in their native environment, have males and females and no fruit yet after about 15 years. Don't get in a hurry.... D

I don't have any junipers within a mile, but still have to deal with rust on my mayhaws. I just cut out the obviously infected limbs. Seems to keep it under some control. D

Let's hope it works out for you. I think we've all gotten screwed around at one point or another. If that happens learn from it and move on. How are you guys doing otherwise? D

Thanks! I'm in 9a theoretically, but we get close to single digits too regularly. Guess I'll keep them in pots for now. D

The chemical plants on the East side of Houston have literal hills of elemental sulfur that they precipitate in their processes. I've thought about trying to buy some. They'd probably loaf up a trailer just to get rid of some. Maybe you could find something similar.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Fig freeze back in FL panhandle
« on: June 03, 2024, 06:47:08 AM »
Hi Derek, I have several figs. One froze to the ground during a multi day near single digit freeze a few years ago. It came back from the roots bigger than ever. Since then none of them has had any top die back. I haven't fertilized them in years, but they do get several gallons of water a week all year. D
