Fukushu dropping all flowers

<< < (2/3) > >>

brian:
Fukushu will definitely set a lot of fruit without any pollination, in fact when unpollinated the fruit is seedless!  I have had huge crops of entirely seedless fruit.

poncirsguy:
I have given the fukusu photoed above away and am down to 1 fukushu tree grafted to sour orange with a Poncirus trifoliata middle stock

Fukushu is to the left has 1 quat.  NZL is to the right has fruit ripening up.

I have 3 seed grown Meiwa trees and 1 grafted to flying dragon all produce fruit and my NZL just ripening up
I have had a total of 6 Fukushu kumquats.  I let 2 die outside winter and gave 3 away.  they all dropped all to maybe just 3 flowers.  My largest was 5 foot diameter by 9+ feet tall healthy well branched.

BP:
Nice trees! What temps did the Fukushu die at?

poncirsguy:
They started looking beaten up if not dead by 15F

BP:
Dang! Do citrus show cold damage as its happening or is it very sudden? I havent taken any through cold before just trying to learn more about what the signs are or if you have to be proactive and less reactive to cold temps.
