53 this morning, and we may go down to the high 40's Monday night. Then another cold front coming up within the next 10 days, but February and March are forecast to be warmer than average. I think our mango trees are getting what they need.
34 here on the panhandle last night. A light frost was on the roof tops. Had my potted mangos in a unheated greenhouse and no damage. I also have a potted lychee that has blooms starting and no damage(unprotected). Lychee and longan seedlings are doing great with no damage and no protection. Avocados Oro Negro, Brodgon, and Sir Prize all unharmed. Eventually I'll have to cover and protect if it gets much colder but so far things are doing great. Post said South/Central Florida and I felt left out Lol.
Thanks, I've lurked on here for over a year now and learned so much. I think my bloom times for mangos and lychees will be a bit earlier because of the temps but I still keep tabs on what is happening in down by you. Maybe one of these days I can move to at least 9b.
The I-10 corridor is forecast to go below freezing tonight. I suppose everyone here is battle hardened and prepared.
