Got to try some new stuff this year. Was really impressed with M-17 Here is my current top 10 for the year in no order:

 M-17
 36-43
 USDA Taymour
 Super Julie
 Dot
 33-8
 White Piri
 Phoenix
 Sunrise
 PPK

Mike,
Could you tell more about taste on 36-43 ?
Is it Bombay like? Looks like my graft of 36-43 has taken (I had bought from Alex last year).

Fruitfool

it had spice like Bombay and was very sweet. Kinda like how 0-15 can get.

I need to add M-10 and 40-17 to the list too.

The top three for me so far have been  M-17, M-10, and 40-17. The 40-17 is very rich and a bit citrusy. even a little bit chalky when underripe like Zinc but still excellent. M-17 was similar to an intense Edward and M-10 similar to a Fruit Punch with Dot like intensity.

40-17 was excellent last year too. Its a smaller fruit though similar in size to Gary.

I tasted a Dwarf Hawaiian the other day, and it was the sweetest mango and one of the richest flavored I've ever eaten.  It belongs on the Flavor Bomb Short List along with Piña Colada, SweetTart, and PPK/LM.  If I get the chance to plant a selection of mango trees in the future (like at a new house), I'm definitely including Dwarf Hawaiian.  I had thought about including it in the past.

Thanks, Mike. Will see how it does in So Cal. I love Bombay flavor.

Just had one of my first Peach Cobblers, I think I've had it before in the past, but this one was outstanding. It really was peachy! Great texture, and I could've left it a day later for more sweetness I suppose, but it was really a great mango. Thanks to Skhan for that one.

I've topworked my Ice Cream to a number of different varieties that have taken. The two (two?!?!) Ice Cream fruit we got were phenomenal, making us glad there are still many branches of Ice Cream left on the tree. We'll be grateful for a couple fruit a year.

We only got five fruit off Sugarloaf this year. One split while small, one went unnoticed till it was found half eaten beneath the tree, and the three we did eat were great. Two were on the less ripe side and pineappley, one was probably overripe but more coconutty.

Still have Pickerings ripening, but they've been super bland and I don't mind rats are taking one or two a night.

Have a bunch of Neelam on the tree.

My trees are still really small and the ones that did set fruit lost most to those couple rounds of strong winds we had in early spring. Still, looking forward to eating the (very very) few home grown. One Angie, a Pickering, and a couple little Pina Colada.

Have eaten about 60lbs from other sources so far. The dark horse was definitely Super Julie, really unexpectedly phenomenal. The P-22 I had was a massive let down. Hoping that was just a one off. Sweet Tart is still reigning supreme, though I should be getting some Cecilove to eat soon.

My Maha's are all turning really nice colorings now. Most of them are still too firm but there's one or two that are ready to eat.
Sorry, this is the only mango I have that's got fruit this year. My Glen got whacked by PM in February. Can't wait until next season.

Let them get full (glorious) color.  Mahachanok not only looks great, but tastes great, too.

What mango variety is the M-10 and M-17? Does Alex at Tropicalacres grow it? I’ve never heard of it.

I'd like to make comment about M4.
Had flowers on almost every tip & i mean 100+
Powdery mildew wiped out most, flowers on top that did start growing fruit got wiped out by anthracnose at pea size.
None survived.  Pruned it heavily afterwards a few months ago.  Bigger then it was already.  It certainly grows great though.
Healed quick couple yrs ago when landscaper took chunk out tunk.  Can't tell now.

I've been eating some Lemon Zest, which aren't the GOAT.  They're good, but definitely not the GOAT.  The flavor possibly got washed out by a lot of rain.  Pickerings have been classically Pickering with their coconut flavor--a pretty solid mango that doesn't blow your mind.

I too have been having the same Lemon Zests. They are very good, but I agree, either this batch is washed out (likely imo), or it's just not the GOAT.

Had a All Summer today (meh), Lemon Zest (good), Peach Cobbler (great).

Ate my last Cogshall after swim.  Only grew 3 but they were great.  I simply cut it up & eat skin on.  Good punch of flavor.
This is what i left :)

Peach Cobbler almost gave me 1st fruit but flowers got toasted.  Excited hearing how much ya'll like it.
Pruned it same time i did M4, Phoenix (next to it) & Maha.  Here it is tonight.

I had a Philippine mango from TAF's fruitstand that was the sweetest mango I've had this season, brix had to be mid 20's- I was caught completely off guard. White Piri has been my favorite this year so far.

As for my own young trees with all the rain this year, they are growing much more aggressively this year. I'm happy

40-17 was hands down the best mango I had last summer. Immediately put in a graft request for it. It had an amazing citrus undertone, brighter and less "juice concentrate"-y than say OS/PPK/LZ. Nice balance with a little sub acid, could eat them without getting sick of it. I feel if more people got to try it it'd be an extremely popular mango.

Lunch.  Kent with chicken thigh.  Both cold i'm hot.  I love Kent.  So much i question if it's Kent.  Came with house 20yrs ago.  Moved it, was soda can size trunk or so, now a good 12-14" i prune often grows super quick.

Any idea how it got the name dwarf Hawaiian? It was found in Puerto Rico. There is a variety called ka’u dwarf here but I’m pretty sure that is a different mango
