From my other post on the Seedless Krueger cocktail/finger avocado:

====== UPPDATE=========
1) If anyone else wants to buy some scion wood of the Krueger, send me a message or post below that you're interested.
I can go ask the owner for more cuttings if I need it. He was surprised and happy with the cash I gave him for the cuttings that I sold this week.

2) I have another news on cuke avocado fruits I found. My dumb luck, I went to see an open house for sale. The person had some fruit trees in the back and one of them was a large avocado tree. This tree had a few normal size Fuerte type fruits. I asked if I can take a fruit, then I saw one large branch of the tree with all cukes (wow), so I got some of those fruits. When I mentioned to the house owner that the branch with the cuke might be a good one to save, she said take cuttings if I want it. So, if anyone else would like this Fuerte tree cuke scion wood cuttings then check out my new For Sale I will start for Monday. As most people know, cukes are very common on some Fuerte trees, but the tree never has all cuke/cocktail fruits at one time, they are random and only 5-10% may be these smaller seedless fruits. But since this tree seems to have the cuke only on the one branch I took cuttings, it might be reproducible by grafting. You can check out the new post I will have on it. I'll call it Fuerte cukes.
> I will also show you the side by side fruit photo comparison of the Krueger and the Fuerte cuke fruits.

Ok, I found this interesting avocado tree, the Seedless "Krueger" Cocktail/Finger avocado. This tree is the true variety, it doesn't give off random cukes, it actually has 100% seedless finger avocado fruits. This is a new find, no one else that I know has any cuttings of this tree and is growing it..

The tree owner allowed me to post photos of this fruits and said I can sell some fruits for him. I wanted to spread the fruits to our serious TFF collectors. So, there are restrictions of who gets to buy any. I'm hoping the serious collectors will buy some fruits now so when I get him to let me sell some cuttings from this rare tree, you will already know what the fruit tastes like.

Most nurseries that claim to have a seedless avocado tree usually don't show photos of the real fruit and won't say it produces nothing but seedless finger fruits. I have purchase about 4 nursery seedless avocado plants (very small thing) paid anywhere from $50-$125 per tree plus shipping cost. Three of my four plants died, just purchased 2 more trees for $195 online just to see what kind of fruits these trees would give, but as you know it may take more than a few years to see the first fruits. I don't mind waiting, but not if the fruits are not true to the description, and not seedless as advertised.

Here's the cost for each fruit:
1. Lower 48 states which allows avo fruits.
2. You must be a TFF forum member for a minmum of 6 months, and have purchased from me or traded with me. No exception.
3. I will only go by the messages I receive, not by you posting to buy it below. There is a very limited amount of fruits I have now.
4. Cost for one avocado is $1 each, maximum you can order is $5 per member.
5. Shipping cost $11.
6. PayPal payment only, Friends & Family
7. If you are interested, send me a message to purchase. Don't pay for it in advance. Anyone who does will have it refunded and you will not be able to buy any.
8. I will start processing this order on Monday until I run out of fruits.
9. I have the right to refuse to sell to anyone, if you do not get a message reply, you will not be getting any.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Avocado Rootstock -Purchase
« on: February 02, 2025, 05:46:47 AM »
Has anyone here purchased good avocado rootstock from a wholesale nursery?

If you did, please let me know which one you ended up buying. I'm thinking a making a large rootstock purchase (50-100) since they have minimum orders to buy them. I have a contact/friend who owns a nursery so I can get it purchased from him.

Check out the list of commercial rootstocks that Brokaw nursery has in stock now.

[url=https://postimages.org/]

Here's their website with details on the rootstock if you want to read up on it.

https://www.brokawnursery.com/ourproducts/avocado/avocado-cultivars/

================
Also, if it's a good deal, I might buy some extras for those of you that have supported my sales, just pay for the rootstock and cost to ship to you once I get them. I'll probably end up picking 2 rootstock varieties for my order.

I will need to see how much it might cost me for the rootstock first.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Ruby Red Guava ?
« on: January 30, 2025, 03:18:37 PM »
Is anyone growing this or know who sells this variety of guava.

Outside has nice red blush and inside is red flesh. Looks like the fruit shape can be round or pear shaped.

Ok, I just tasted a few of the Dennis Big Yellow Passion fruits, they still taste about the same, very good, hardly any sourness.

Instead of cutting all the passion fruit vine, I will take Advance Order now, those on the list can buy it for the price below. I will not take any more cuttings than to fill this order.

I will keep this For Sale open until February/March sometime. We think the fruits will all be done by March so I should be able to start taking fresh cuttings and ship while they are no more than 1-2 days old.

So, here's the Advance Sale Order:

1. Dennis, big yellow fruit, passion cutting, 2 for $15.
2. Shipping cost; you will have two options below:
2a) Small USPS flat rate box, $11 - cuttings will have no leaves, length about 7-8" long to fit the box.
   > small flat rate box is 5"x8"x2"

2b) Medium USPS flat rate box, $19- cuttings will have a few leaves, length of each will be about 12-14" long.
      > medium flat rate box is 11"x 13"x3"
The medium box will give you the longer cuttings for the same cost.

3. CA residence will get a slightly larger box for about $11 to ship.
4. Only open to those who have purchased/traded/sold items with me.

-> Don't message me or ask here if you don't meet #4 above.

5. Cuttings will be taken some time in March/April, fresh, then shipped within 2 days.
6. I have the right to refuse to sell to anyone. If I don't reply to your message to be on the Advance List then you will not be buying any from me.
7. Only send me message to get on the Advance List, don't post your request below.
8. You only pay when I message you to say I'm ready to ship out your order. PayPal, Friends & Family only for payment.

I will try to show some photos again of the fruits, will take another brix reading this week.

Once I get enough people on the Advance Wait List, then I will close this post.

Here's the old post with photos of the fruit and some brix readings I made last year.

https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=54808.msg529475#msg529475

Here's more info on the fruit of Dennis compared to other yellow/purple Brazilian and Qinmi#9 passion fruit.

https://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=53767.msg535392#msg535392

Dennis had brix ranging from low =8, to high =16. I will try to take a brix reading again this week when my last fruit I have is ready to eat.

Ok, since I have one weird pomelo variety that likes to have tons of seeds, I thought I will do a contest for all the members who have purchased/traded/sold things to me.

No other people need to guess, this is only for those I have sold items, traded items, or purchased items.

I love the Pomelo fruits, so I have most of the good tasting pomelos. Some pomelos seems to have more seeds in them than others. For example the Reinking has a lot of seeds, maybe 20-30 seeds in one fruit. But I have a seedling pomelo tree which gives good tasting fruits, I called it Roy pomelo.

The seeds in this Roy pomelo have the most I have ever seen. Check out the number of seeds there was in just 2 fruits I cut open and ate.

Here's the photos, guess how many total seeds in the last photo with the seeds drying on the paper towel.

You might be able to count most of the seeds in the photo..

Citrus General Discussion / Pomelo With Lots of Seeds
« on: January 12, 2025, 06:38:13 AM »
Does anyone know why some citrus fruits have so many seeds?

I grow many different citrus varieties, most of my trees all have 5-30 different varieties grafted on the branches of one tree.

I will count the number of seeds when they dry up, just washed the seeds tonight.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Carmine Type Guava - Red Blush on Fruit
« on: December 05, 2024, 12:30:48 AM »
I wanted to see if anyone else has found tropical guava trees which has fruit that are mostly yellow skin, but with some splash of red, similar to the Carmine Guava from China.

I will post some photos I have from fruit trees I found and tasted the fruits off of them.
1. Sylvia guava - very similar fruits as the Carmine, may be a Carmine. This tree was from Taiwan.
2. Unk Carmine #2- looks like a Carmine fruit, large, yellow with red splash on the fruits.
3. Unk Carmine #3- looks very similar to item 2 above, but this fruit seems to be more round.
4. Unk small fruit- fruits on this tree is always small, pear shaped, has some red splash, but the inside flesh is yellow.

I'll post some photos I took later this week. Also did my own taste test of these fruits, guess which one came up #1?

Citrus General Discussion / Albino Citrus
« on: November 25, 2024, 10:47:31 PM »
Ok, I thought it would be interesting to see what citrus varieties get the albino branches spontaneously.

I have 3-4 branches that are albino. Here's a few below that you might like. If you have any branches or seedlings that are mostly albino, then please post your photos.

Citrus General Discussion / Satsuma Tree - SoCal fruits
« on: November 24, 2024, 12:44:42 AM »
I thought I would share some photos again of the satsuma tree that is very productive here in SoCal.

This tree had over 2,000 fruits last year. This year it looks to have about 1,000 fruits. I picked about 100 fruits today. The fruits on this tree usually are ripe from November - January.

Fruits are easy peel, seedless, and pretty sweet. Much sweeter than my Fallglo, Washington Navel, Lane Late, Cara Cara orange, or Kishu mandarin right now.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Seedless Avocados - Anyone Growing It?
« on: November 15, 2024, 12:49:32 AM »
Wanted to ask if anyone here is growing any of the seedless avocado varieties (Wilson Seedless, Pepino Seedless, Tyson Seedless).

If you are growing the seedless avocado, can you let me know if all of your fruits are seedless (not chukes) and how large your fruits are. Please post any photos you have of the seedless avocado fruits.

I think I have a variety but don't remember which one it is. It had a few very small fruits last year that were seedless, and this year again, all the fruits were a little larger (2" or so long) and all had no seeds. I hope next year the fruits will get larger. For my variety, the skin needs to turn black before it is ripe. It is so small that it's hard to determine if it has much taste. I took photos of my miniature seedless fruits, will post later this week.

9. Send me a message if you are interested.

I will post a few photos of how large the green fruit will get (the big ones) and a few photos of the leaves and tree later tonight or tomorrow.
These fruits are green, oblong, size ranges from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" long.

Here's a fruit photo from the tree owner. I think this was one of the larger fruits. When I went today to cut the tree, most of the fruits were about 1-1/2" to 2" long, skinny and long, but still not fully mature fruits.
