Can anyone give me a taste description for Plinia oblongata? Is it too sour? Does it get sweet if kept on the tree? Is it a tasty cultivar?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / How is South Carolina climate compared to Florida climate?

Hi All

I want to have some insight on South Carolina's climate compared to Florida's. Do any sub-tropical fruit trees grow there without winter protection. Would guava trees do fine in winters without protection? Also, Is S. Carolina cooler and less humid than Florida?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Would a netting stop pollinators from reaching plants?

Hi Everyone,

I covered my potted trees with a bird netting which has half an inch mesh size, to stop critters from destroying the plants and eating the fruits. But, i am just worried that it may also stop the pollinators from pollinating the flowers. Has anyone tried growing trees under netting? Would it be ok to keep the trees under netting at all times? Would it pose any issue? Any insight or feedback is appreciated.
