Timonius minahassae Review
« on: February 15, 2025, 01:50:36 AM »
Hello, everyone.
Timonius minahassae(Red capote,Lompi), which became a hot topic last year. I really wanted to eat this fruit, so I ate it in Indonesia.
I measured the average fruit weight of this fruit from 28 fruit data of 79.59g.
The diameter of the fruit is just under 10 cm.
This fruit has a hexagonal shape and looks like a tomato. But the part of the tomato that looks like a spatula is the bottom of the fruit, and the opposite side is connected to the branch.
I was worried about the texture of the flesh that looks like a sponge in the picture, but when I actually tried it, it was a little rough. It was a little rough and had a texture like the back of the Atemoya pericarp.
The texture around the seeds has a slimy flesh-like texture around the mangosteen seeds.
The taste is as refreshing and sweet and sour as a young plum.
The sugar content was 4.5 percent to 5.0 percent.

However, I don't think all my reports are correct because the taste of fruit varies depending on the harvest season, the way it is eaten, and the way it is felt by the person who eats it.
I hope that the number of people who actually eat will increase and the information will increase in the future.

My YouTube movie is that.

Thank you so much for posting this review. So it tastes similar to an underripe plum?

awesome! thanks for the review
I'm on the hunt for jaboticaba, Eugenia, Pouteria, Passiflora, and annona fruits (like the fruit part), if you have any to spare, lemme know!  I'm also looking for any plants that could bear fruit soon :)

Thanks a lot for the review!
I bought a germinated seed last year but out of a lot of small plants I grow, this expensive one didn't make it  :'(.
5% sugar content does is not as much as I hoped for.
