Is this ruruhi with trunk borne fruits? Tasty fruit or ornamental? I like Syzygiums more than most people

Yes it's that one. I was told the fruit is sweet/subacid.  Fruit size is smaller more like the size maybe 1-1.5" diameter?

yes.  Sweet sour taste.  If you don't pick it right, it's definitely a sour tasting one. Needs to be left on the tree long enough to get the sweet flavor.  Definitely will be a favorite of yours once you taste it.  This particular tree is self fertile. 6-8 seeds, but only 1-2 aren't aborted. The rest you can chew through. I actually like chewing on the aborted seeds for some reason (very thin).

Is Cherapu less tropical than mangosteen? Mangosteen does not grow well for me at 900’

good question.  But I think they're the same level of tropical.  Cherapu is from Peninsular Malaysia, Thailand?  But never know until you try I guess.

My keledang seeds are sprouting!  I have tried a few batches over the past year or two from various sellers but this is the first time I have gotten green sprouts.  Thanks

Yup, I have definitely frightened my share of seemingly healthy seeds into oblivion.  Luckily time is on my side so I can keep trying.
