« on: January 03, 2025, 11:54:27 AM »
Does anyone have something like Thai ruby seedless here in FL? I’m willing to drive a good amount, I’ve called everywhere and nobody has a crunchy red guava

Also interested in one if you can find a seller. There is a bizarre lack of guava varieties down here 🤔

Will let you know for sure. I’ve been looking around on Etsy but it’s hard to trust the good reviews since most are “healthy plant” and not necessarily proof that they’re selling the correct variety. I remember reading somewhere on the forum about how common guava scams are because it’s so easy to just send a seedling or random variety. I might have to pull the trigger and see what happens because I’m desperate for good guavas. So much crap here for some reason

I can for sure see why thats why people scam with guavas. Probably similar with mangoes as well.

Tampa Tropical Asian Nursery seems to have some decent guava but almost all the guavas are in store pickup sadly.

Tampa tropical Asian nursery has a lot of good guavas
Not a lot of selection of Thai types in FL
Large selection in CA
Brought a few plants back
I got a seedless pink one called pinky😂
And a nice seedless one
Check with leaf in WPB
He has a nice crunchy seedless one
Edit: but it's white.
Never seen a red seedless one...I guess if you mean inside of the fruit is pink/red then yes

The Thai Ruby Seedless is like a pinkish inside I think.

And Pinky sounds like an awesome guava 😊

Ah ok!
I heard pinky is kinda oblong? I think it’s like the regular pink ones but no seeds and oblong🙂
Definitely will share scions with you guys once they grow out!

That would be fantastic. Thank you! Looking forward to some photos and hopefully a taste test when you get some fruits 😊

Any in particular you can mention? All the ones I saw didn't say they do it on the website 🤔

I have a hard time understanding people on the phone so I’d need to communicate through text or email.

Has anyone ever done business with chfruittreenursery? They have Thai ruby seedless listed but I’m weary. https://www.chfruittreenursery.com/about-us/

Alex, I did in the past.  A lot of the current Thai/Taiwan varieties are most likely spreaded by him.

Note: plants are extremely undersized.  For example, his 5 gallon plant is a little smaller than 1 gallon plant.  He also do not ship in pots, removing significant dirt, almost bare root.
