15 foot tall Bird Frame Protection

(1/1)

LoPresti:
Hi all you amazing tropical fruit forum growers. I figured that I should share this with you guys here since I already had done with a few other forums since this is a really helpful product that can give you and your families more tasty fruit that the birds end up getting. I got this a few weeks back and was pretty impressed how easy it was to put together and up over an 13 foot Asian Pear tree here. The netting is small enough to keep out even smaller birds so I don’t worry about them getting tangled up like my other bird nets. The frame is 15 foot tall. It’s called an Eagleland FiberX bettering and frame kit. I guess pictures would be best. Wish you all a prolific year for your harvests.

If you’re in need of bird protection I recommend looking up Eagleland.

This looks interesting  :o could be useful for my yangmei and peach trees this summer. thank you for sharing!

LoPresti:
You’re welcome Juan. This will definitely save your peaches. Nice on the Yangmei can’t wait for mine to grow. I have a long ways to go on these cuttings if they root.

Hi LoPresti, for yangmei cuttings, try to keep them warm and humid like in a dome or even a plastic bag over the pot which helps them root. Make sure the soil stays damp but not soaked since they’re really prone to rot. Give them bright but indirect light, and skip direct sun until they’re stronger. Be patient because yangmei can take months to root, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t see quick progress. Once you see new growth, you can start giving them a little diluted fertilizer.

By the way I got one of those nettings and it's pretty good! The frame really holds up the netting so it doesnt get tangled on the branches and doesnt press down on the tree. Might replace the netting with insect netting.

LoPresti:
Thanks for the heads up on the Yangmei. What a pita these things are. I lost 6 plants and one graft is barely hanging on and only one of 3 cuttings now. I dropped one of the 2 though think it’s a goner. I might be done with them after this though lol.

Your tree looks amazing enjoy getting all your fruit now. That is the best netting ever I love mine.
