Huge 3 Gallon Guava Mango Tree 😊
« on: July 26, 2019, 09:38:03 AM »
Was working today in sarasota , stopped by a Garden Center where I spotted a very nice large 3Gal Guava Mango tree a few weeks ago and it was still there !

Yeap bought it , now I have 3-3 Gal Mango trees that will have to be planted in 1 Hole .
Those Are :
Guava Mango
Pinaple Pleasure
M4

It’s going to have to work if I want to keep them all 😁

Ed

That is it NO MORE TREES !

One hole is too close. How about 5ft apart and in a triangle and let them battle it out.

And would you remove the limbs from the center so that each tree grows outward?  (And yes, that's a beauty, Ed.)

Yes I would have to properly shape all the limbs so that they won’t grow onto rack other , I wish I had space to plant them 5ft apart , but all I can do is Dog a 5-6 Ft Circumference Hole and neatly plant them .
And hope for the best .

As I trim and prune I’ll use bud wood and top work other planted trees and create cocktail trees .

On my way home to plant this bad boy👍

Ed, I would still space them as best you can and do not literally put these three into one hole.  I have two mango trees planted 5ft apart and it is too close. They kind of grow into each other.

Anyway I would have grabbed that Guava mango tree too. It looks great.

Beautiful little tree, would be happy to make space for that. Gonna be one helluva hole with those 3 growing. Great choices. The Pineapple Pleasures I had were top notch this year, and guava is outstanding. Haven't tried M4 yet, but know it's a winner too.

You are welcome and all good lucks with Guava mango tree and the other two. You planted the largest (Guava mango) first. You got that out of the way.

Plenty of time to think about where to plant them. And maybe fairly close together.

Oh man can’t wait to taste it fruits!🙏

Thanks everyone..

John my niebors are not into fruit trees 🤧Iv Tried striking a conversation to various people in my community and very little to none share our enthusiasm Regarding fruit trees and nature most of them think fruit trees are eye soars! It’s amazing some people could describe one of God’s creation as an eyesore!

, I think everyone in this forum is not Of this earth🙏, maybe some other planet where we all had a hand in seeding this planet with fruit trees ?..

I don't think West Coast Florida people are that interested in mangoes and Florida native fruits. They are scrunched down in air conditioned homes eating apples and green grapes maybe.  I base this on .... In 2015 I saw a prolotherapy Doc three times. He is in Fort Meyers. I brought a large box of assorted mangoes and I got zero thanks. Less than zero from the staff etc.  They looked at me with flat uncomprehending faces.  As in Mango? What is that? I don't even want to know. Hopefully one or two smart staff people took the box and ate them all.

I think you're generalizing from one experience you had.  I've found that most people are appreciative when you give them mangoes.  They may not be interested in growing them themselves, but I've had a co-worker every now and then wanting to plant a tree.  Of course, we probably have more people in our part of the state from mango-eating places than the West Coast does.

Mangojoy, that is the exact mango that Walter Zill talked about on his you tube video with Chris from Truly Tropical.

The story is that an Indian customer recognized it and told Walter to Google the name of the mango and he thinks that is exactly what it is ...Parakaka sp?

I tasted quite a few this year from Walter and have the seeds planted here in Phx Az . This mango was on my top 5 that i tasted this year along with P-22, Sucari,Mekong , Karutha colomban, super julie , pancdari kalassi , and dupois saigon

What is the production like on this guava mango tree?
Be very careful and mindful of what you sow, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
