What’s Wrong With My Lemon Meringue Tree?
« on: July 22, 2020, 06:49:11 PM »
We have a Lemon Meringue mango tree that has not flushed this year. It is been in the ground for a year and a half. Any suggestions why it it is not flushing? We are in South West Florida.

Close up photo looks like it has buds that will pop.

Be very careful and mindful of what you sow, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

A member here had a LM/PPK over a year doing exactly the same. I gave him a quart of Nutricote Total 180 day 100% slow release 18-6-8. Within a few months that kicked it into gear.
Hard to say which may have actually done the job because it has everything including the minors.
Try it for $14?

I’ve had a PPK in the ground for about the same amount of time and it’s flushed exactly twice. Once in spring after the frost got most of its leafs and once again in summer. I’ve grafted it onto another more mature Cogshall and the scions have flushed 2 times as well. The Cogshall flushed several times during this time. It just seems like PPK is not a very vigorous.

Once PPK gets going it is a fairly vertical grower and as vigorous as any.
