This is a variety of Maliformis that produces a bigger than normal fruit. The fruits are shown in the photos above. The source reports these fruits taste amazing! The plant was found at a very high altitude, so it should be fairly cold hardy. These plants grow quickly! The seeds were imported directly from Brazil. The plant photos are what you will recieve, they have actually grown a few inches since that photo was taken.
Plants are $15 each with $10 shipping, or 3 plants for $45 and free shipping.

cool find, do you have a more detailed description of taste? I'm looking for a passiflora without or almost without acidity. Thanks in advance!
-
Any idea how these will do in the high heat and humidity of SoFL?
Satya, I recommend you look at p. nitida, p. laurifolia, p. decaisneana, and p. cerasina. I've tried PL and PD, they both were sweet and floral without acidity.
Panama Passion aka Panama Red is the least sour of the regular (p. edulis?) varieties I've tried. So good.

Thanks Rob. Yes will look for them. The most flavorful i have had so far was from a street market in Costa Rica. It was oval shaped, bigger than panama red and orange colored outside.

by the way, i had Panama Red growing in my garden for several years, a very heavy producer but fruit was quite acidic, similar to purple.

I have 2 sweet granadilla seedlings growing - the flavor of those fruit was not tart/acidic like regular passionfruit. They are much less vigorous than regular passionfruit so the gulf frittary caterpillars eat them up. Hopefully mine will size up and produce.
