I always wanted to visit his farm. Didn't know where he was located in Florida. He has such incredible knowledge of jabos

Hey all looking for some lemon drop mangosteen and other Garcinias to pickup close to winter garden/Orlando area

I've already offered my suggestion on Merritt Island on the first thread (same subject) you started.  There are these guys in Sarasota.  Farmers markets?  Since you're a young person (and even an old fart like me does this), I have to believe you've researched all this on the internet (google).
We call them farmers markets in Louisiana, mini markets most of the time in a park with art sellers, veggie vendors etc. And I Google and only found one Asian Mart called Lotte. And you already know if you google fruits in season in x month it just gives you basic fruit.

Moving to Lake buena Vista for the disney college program.  What fruit stands are near orlando/Lake buena Vista? Looking to find some tropical fruit stands/farmers markets within like a 1.5 hour driving. Also what will be im season during that time?

Congratulations! That should be a great experience. I love the Epcot exhibit and growing program. You should learn a lot.
It would be a dream to work on Living with the Land.

I just got accepted to the Disney College program for may-January. While I'm living in Florida I'm looking for fruit stands and stores to buy tropical fruits. What fruits will be in season during that time? I'll have my car so willing to travel about an hour if I ever get time off haha. I love anonas.

My valencia has survived the 30-40f we've been having with no browning or cold damage so its making me wonder if I can push it under 30

Wtb cuttings or seeds of Passiflora tripartita var. mollissima(banana  PF) or any other of your favirote tasting PF variety.

I think the growers in FL and CA are lucky when it comes to group sales and we always get the short end of the stick in AZ.
Seriously, take him up on the offer.  I really wish we had enough AZ members to do something like this.

In Louisiana theres only a handful of us growing anything but citrus. I'm driving about 45 minutes to go get a chempedak tho  ;D. Wish we could get some more rare fruit growers here.

My college campus in nola has a mango tree growing that survived a 20f freeze last year with no damage and no cover. The tree is in a blocked off area behind a brick wall so that could have protected it from harsh winds. But it's open to the elements on the top. I asked around but no response. I've seen flowers on the tree but no fruit. About 7ft tall. Any mango varieties that can survive harsh freezes that this could be?

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Cherimoya seed packs

Ok, great news.  I also started a bunch of seeds around the same time and have most of them germinated now as well.  Was wondering how your seed sprouting went.

My honeyharts sprouted. The rest i have sitting for a year like you suggested

Looks like typical color caused from cooler temps.
I notice all my jabos look ragged this time of the year and
usually push new leaves around March and look much better.

Thats reassuring. I guess it also doesn't help moving it in and out with temp changes.  :)

Temps have dropped below 40F so I have moved all my smaller tropicals inside. They've been inside for a day and my yellow jabo is getting some serious discoloring. It's 74F in my house. Is this cold damage, or something else?

Got my cuttings in today. Stuffed a bunch in the box. Thanks again!

Lovingly packaged... yes?

Yep of course always. They were wrapped in wet towels in a ziplock bag. You always do good stuff Kevin 👌👌

Mine came in a few days ago. Nice huge pads

All my seeds got here today. I see you took the prayer beads advice lol

Got all my cuttings in and potted up today.  :D fingers crossed for good sprout rate. Nice huge cuttings on the hog plums. Thanks for the extras

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fertilizer for na dai sugar apple?
« on: January 06, 2022, 02:27:43 PM »
From what I've read sugar apples need 3:10:10 but I can't find that formula anywhere but shady retail sites. What fertilizer am I supposed to use on my sugar apples?

Just sprouted my first red and white jabos. And your videos were a huge inspiration. Got some superior lemon drop mangosteen coming in also.

Hopefully you didn't use friends and family option. Because then you're most likely sunk. If not open a dispute and paypal should handle for undelivered goods or services

Did you get the ordered items?

I have purchased from them more than once and they have good service and the cuttings were very healthy. Maybe you should try to give them a call to find out what happened to your order. Your item may have gone out of stock when you ordered it.

My stupid self thought in stock meant ready to ship. Learned that wasn't the case after contacting them.

I don't know about fruit production but the plants def grow ridiculously fast. I planted my seeds a month ago and they're already a foot tall
