They let you bring the mango plants in the plane? I love going there also, but I must admit that I have never been there at this time of year. I will have to plan my next vacation accordingly.
Are you a member of the tropical fruit growers here in Phoenix? I am not, but planning to attend the next meeting, I have much to learn.  ;)

Thanks, I think no matter how I look at it, I will pay a hefty price for tropical fruit. It seems that the Asian stores here in Phoenix only sell two varieties of mangoes. So maybe the mangoes from the Mango factory are not so rare, but it will be a change for me. At least I am being optimistic that they will be an improvement over what I can get here. 
The link posted by Bush2Beach doesn't show ice cream beans for sale; at least I didn't see it. :( But thanks for the link; I am sure I will be trying some of their other fruits.

I was hoping that some people from FL who had extra mangoes, leeches or longans from their trees were willing to sell some out, but I guess they only have enough for their families and shipping its too complicated. :)

Hi Raimeiken! I ended up ordering 4 large boxes of Mangoes from the Mango Factory. I asked them to send me a box every 2 weeks with a mix variety of mangos so that way I can try different kinds. I can’t wait to get my first shipment! :)
I was hoping that someone here would take the time to give me the inside to the best places to order, but since there were no responses I decided to take my chances. The mangoes in the website look delicious so maybe that sold me to the site. :P

I have been reading here about the wonderful varieties of mangoes that now I am intrigued. What is the best place to order a variety of fruit so I can taste a few different kinds at the same time? Does anyone know of a place in FL. that will ship some to AZ? Please advice. Thanks Xenia

Whoa! All good information. Thanks!
I have never been to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico. Maybe I should visit there as well.
I have lived all my life in the big cities and I like the commodity of getting what I need 24/7 and having the many amenities that makes our life easier on a daily basis, but coming from the tropics I also love fruit trees and enjoy talking to my plants.  Maybe I am spoiled and greedy and want it all :(

Hello Floridians! :D
If I was to move to FL when I retire, what area of FL will be the better one to start growing tropical fruit. I am thinking a small house with an acre lot to keep me busy.
I currently live in AZ, but have been to FL about 5 times and can't begin to think where to look. I have only been in Miami, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, FL keys, FL City and Homestead FL. Mostly to visit botanical gardens and enjoy the beach.
I will love for the locals to give me their input so on my next trip I can start exploring my options. Thanks in advance!

I agree, I loved eating the baby green mangos with salt and the green spondias as well, maybe because they are sour when young, and children seem to like them in particular. :)
I checked the link posted here but they want about $39.00 just for shipping and it doesn’t say how big the plant is, so don’t want to pay for a stick when I may be able to get a stick from someone else without having to pay so much for shipping. I don’t mind paying for the plant but I want to know what I am getting.
 ;)

Thanks!:) I grew up eating the fruit and I loved it, I am originally from El Salvador in Central America and its a very common and abundant tree in the coastal areas and very easy to find in the public markets when in season.

Hello guys!
I am new here, and would love to get my hands on icecream beans, do you know who sells them? I live in AZ but I am originally from El Salvador in Central America, so I am familiar with most of the fruit you guys mention on these post, we may call them by a different name. :) Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
