Any recommendations on the best place to get this stuff. I see it all over the internet, but i'm interested if one "type" is better.

It seems that certain varieties are more sensitive to the ph/ chlorine etc. I have seen Sabara, Red, and Grimal all grown successfully on city water. Additionally grafting other varieties that are more sensitive onto Sabara rootstock will help, and allow you to grow more varieties.

Speaking of giant leaves, this is the leaf of a white/aurena I recently grafted whit some giant foliage! So if we are gonna describe by leaf size we might be in trouble! lol

it's a shame, but most people still rely on Julia Morton's book from 1987 (Fruits of Warm Climates) for info about Jabuticaba.

unfortunately she only wrote about 4 species, and had most of the facts twisted.

for instance, she identifies the "White" (or Branca) Jaboticaba as a form of M. cauliflora (but it's M. aureana)....and of course the biggest misnomer of all, she calls "Sabara", M. cauliflora as well (but it's M. jaboticaba).

you have to give her credit though, because she did a good job with the resources she had avaialble...just think how hard it would be to compile all the info she presented, without the advent of the internet.

(btw, that "super puffy large leaf" jabo u grafted is looking good!!!)  ;D

Yeah I imagine that it would be difficult to to much work at all without the internet. People had to travel, talk to locals, tramp through the jungle...

Thanks! I was really happy to see the scions pushing so much big leaf growth. Keep up the good work!

Well done, That is a great looking tree! I have had some difficulties getting phitrantha grafts to take. Did you experience difficulties, or have any suggestions? I've been successful with grafting other varieties, however the phitrantha eludes me. Thanks!

Hurray!!!! Thanks!

They are all delicious and worth having!

Ross Sapote
Red Jaboticaba
Miracle Berry
Pitangatuba
Blue Jaboticaba
lemon drop mangosteen
fingersop
white jaboticaba
rainforest plumb

I think I may have an unfair advantage.

That's a pretty great spread!

Interesting,

Between low light requirements and precocity you may have a super tree on your hands! I hope the fruit is good!
 I'll stay tuned.

Wow I had the chance to try a Ross today (Thanks Adam) They are fantastic! Thick, custardy, almost like a spiced cheesecake. I had never considered growing one of these until today, but I will be adding one of these to my collection.

Get a white! they are a little different is size and shape but the fruit is pretty fantastic and because it stays green when ripe you will not have to battle with the birds who are after your fruit.

Really you can't go wrong with anything from FFF.

How is the fruit on this tree? I haven't found much in the way of reviews, and from what I have found it looks like the fruit is not the best for eating. What if anything would you compare it to?

Thanks for the info!

Great video! Now I have a few more fruit I need to try.

You also forgot to mention the satisfaction of knowing you coaxed a seed out of it's shell and watched it come to life.

This is the White Jaboticaba seeds Myrciaria aureana I got from you. Thanks for all the info!

Adam Speaks the truth! These are pretty fantastic fruit! Sweet, tart. I think they have a taste and texture similar to a peach, not quite as sweet but definitely worth a taste, and worth growing! Thanks again for the tour and that tastes!

I'll keep you posted on the grafted Rollinia I got from you.
