Its a girl. Here they take from 3 to 9 years to flower with most around 5. I spread around quite a few in 2014 locally and all of that lot seems to be flowering now.I suspect it is no coincidence that those I gave away are females and what I kept are male and bisex. I must have retained the most vigorous ones for myself.

Thanks Mike,

So it looks just like my female Imbe flowers, do I need to get some pollen for this female or is it past the pollination stage?

I thought the lone flower dropped, but just noticed it held a fruit, good news it fruited with no male flowers.

Awesome Mark, is that from the scions we picked up a while back? Let us know how it tastes if it ripens!

Female flowers will often appear to form fruits and may hang for multiple months before aborting.  In my experience, a proper fruit will size up quickly,  getting to around 2 inches by month 2. Good luck and keep us updated!

Looking at the picture of the flower, I can see what looks like 3 stamens on the left, in front of the bottom left petal and one on the right side. Could that have been a bisex flower?

Simon, this is a seedling tree, the grafted ones are about 10 feet tall, and another one I gave to Richard Reid, and I still have one in a tree pot.

I don't remember growing Intermedia, I have planted Aristata, Rheedia, Achachiaru, and some others. I was thinking the leaves don't look big enough for Luc's, so you may be right.
Thanks
