tasmanian mountain pepper seeds
« on: November 29, 2021, 04:09:27 AM »
does anyone know where I can get some seeds? I have only found one nursery that sells the plant in the US and I know you need male and female plants and would like to try to grow my own.

Weird fruit explorer (youtube) did a thing on this and had links to at least one farm selling them.

Also,

https://onegreenworld.com/product/tasmanian-mountain-pepper/

Their clonal variety is supposedly self fertile.

Kind regards,

I now carry plants with my nursery that are a self fruitful female clone. It's likely the same clone that One Green World carries. I will also have seeds available in July when the fruit is in season.

I sent a information request on wanderlust but I was under the impression that you needed both a male and female plant. Digging dog nursery has female plants but when I asked verified that you needed a male plant for berries

I asked an Aussie on another garden blog about these and it seems that the female plants will bear fruit without a male, but the fruit is smaller and the seeds are sterile. but since it can be propagated by cuttings that is not important to me. I found female plants so as long as I can get fruit that is all I care about.
