"achetadomestica" has the best Muntingia offer in town (yellow and red varieties as well)

Are they easy to grow from seed? I tried and failed one time. I think my seed were too old. Any suggestions of technique?

A nice alternative that is more cold hardy is Chilean Guava. The variegated "Flambeau" variety tastes very similar (interior, not the skin), at least in my garden.

Also, these are easily rooted from cuttings. Way easier than seed.

Yes they are a bit tricky it took me three tries to do it right. They need light to germinate, so I put the seeds over some moist peat moss, covered that in plastic to prevent drying, then placed that under a light bulb, I got left off 2 weeks later. I used a tooth pick to separate the seedlings. They were tiny and there were hundreds of them.
I have yellow ones and now I want the red ones.

Hi, thx for the info, I have a couple Chilean guavas that should fruit next year. Is the skin edible?

The thing I disliked about my Jamaican Cherry tree was the skin, way too thick so you have to spit It out. My kids couldn’t eat the Jamaican Cherry fruit because of the skin :(

It depends how ripe the fruit is i think. The skin on these guys is much thinner than the Jamacian cherry and not really bothersome. You could also just pinch em and eat the inside that pops out and chuck the skins. Theyre super small and the inside is really soft.

I would trade someone for some small rooted plants of either the red or yellow or both.
Trying to grow it all!
