It is a very nice property. The nursery stock is not included in the sale price.

I am guessing everything is negotiable.

Personally I think cherimoya taste quite a bit better than atemoya.  You should really try both before buying a bunch of trees.  You can always topmwork but it is a bit of a pain.

I would do that except we ate all the fruit.

They have a ton of big lychee trees.  Not to mention that indoor pool and 10,000sq ft house.

4 million is just a little expensive though.

Can the seeds be dried out or do they need to stay wet?  I have them in a plastic bag with their own moiture only at the moment.

I put in a bunch of in ground manilla trees and some grafted ones many years ago.  And the in ungrafted ones are large and fruiting now but none of them look that great.  The seedlings from zills types seem to do better and never need to be top worked.  I think you are better off growing CAC or sweet tart seeslings.  Or velencia pride seeds to top work.

It is good.  Nothing mind blowing.  It is similar to a cherry in that it has a hard seed in the middle.  The flavor and texture is similar to a good mullberry or raspberry and maybe strawberry.  It has a good bit of juice and when you bite it.  Not super sweet, not sour.  Just balanced and enjoyable.  But nothing out of this world.  I would put it there with a good mullberry or bowl of raspberries.  I think it is much better than any of the eugenias.

1$ each plus postage.

From Weee Biqi fruits

Those are both good ones.  The vietnamese one is the same as dr white and is very vigorous and does not require hand pollination.  But it makes a lot more fruit and they are good quality. The honeyhart are higher quality fruit but they require hand pollination even with the beetle and not as productive.

I dont do the hand polli ation the last few years because I got too busy with other things but the vietnamese/dr whites are still really productive while no other varieties are without hand pollination for me.  The others will make a few but not a good crop.

Thanks for pointing out that the Veitnamese doesn't require hand pollination. My local nusery got a lot of those so I think that's the variety I'll get so I don't need to worry about that aspect!

Good choice.  Very strong tree, makes lots of big fruit.

I have one that is maybe 2x2ft.  I guess it will be a while.  It does seems to be growing faster now that its gotten past the seesling stage.

How big is the plant Mark?

13
Kill every single one of them mercilessly. .  Get some work boots and kick over all the mounds so you can see where the new ones pop up and set traps in the tunnels right there. The large mole size trap from trapline work best for me.

Also, the gophers will go in the raised beds unless they are sealed on bottom.

14
Start the seeds then plant them in the ground and wait a year and a half to graft.  Thry will be way bigger than if you use pots.

Are you guys getting them shipped from sayweee.com via USPS/Fedex/UPS??  When I add them to my cart it says Local Delivery.  I see zero options for parcel shipping.  I'm worried that if I actually try to order and put a shipping address in Pennsylvania they will just not fulfill it and I'll have to go fight for a refund.

The have a private delivery driver guy.

35$ for half a pound shipped to me.  Is it worth it?  Tempting but seems really steep.

I have only caught 2 gophers this year.  Last year I had it really clean after around 15 kills.  Now it is even less this year.  But my next door neighbor has them and lets them breed in his lawn so I get some of his coming over to my side thats about it.

I get them everytime with the large mole size traplines.

Yes I do get multiple sets on Carmen.  But I dont think it is a good thing.  It is hard to tell which is which.  I have a lot of trees and just want to harvest one tree at one time of the year.  Maybe not as much of an issue in a small yard but I think it will still be annoying.

I think carmen or gwen is a toss up.  They both taste like regular hass.  But regular hass trees grow better.  Gwen is definitely better than gem though.

The problem with gwen and carmen and gem is they all have a weaker growth pattern and set tons of fruit.  So you end up with a tree that sags and can get sun burn on sagging branches and doeant have the vigor to grow back from the stress well.

Regular hass is a much better tree IMO.

Either one will do well for you.  I think fruit quality is better on carmen.

That said, I would go for regular hass over carmen or gem.

Probably has to do with the Mexican cartels putting bullets in the heads of people.  Favorite targets: politicians, journalists, environmentalists, farmers.

I think he means mexican vs guatemalan vs west indian avocado.

My personal opinion is guatemalan is much better than mexican avocados.

It should flush out soon.  I would just leave it be.

I have a very dwarf lychee tree that is not one other people have and it fruits very heavy on a very small tree.  It would be a good one to grow.  It came from ONG and I believe it may be a seedling of emporer or something similar that he got from China. You could probably get a tree if you go to san diego or get someone to buy one.  Mark Lee may know if they have more of them available.

Is it a dave wilson tree?  Nemaguard rootstock or something else?  I have goos results with all the dave wilson nemaguard trees.  The citation trees are a different story.

Also, I think snow queen was one of the 300ish hour trees.  You may just not get enough chill there for it to set well.  You probably get a bit less chill than me.  It doesnt freeze here but it does get a decent amount of 40-50F

It has always set a ton of fruit but I dont know if it will this year because of all the cool and wet weather.
