Tropical Fruit Discussion / LED Grow lights
« on: January 27, 2018, 02:22:38 PM »
Hi All, i have searched the net a few times till my eyes melted looking for just the right grow light for starting seeds indoors and growing small seedlings like, jabo's grumichama exc.  i read that some light is good for dark green leaf some for stocky bushy growth some for strong root devel.   i have read that you need a % of reeds to a % of blues to a % of greens and whites , most of the lights i see advertised are designed for the pot growers with a lot of extra reds for growing large blooms and flowers, not what i need  due to my lack of  experience on the internet once i change pages i can never find that last article  twice, the lights i have been looking at are around 40 to 45 watts and around 10 to 12 inches sq. in the price range of $25. or so ....SO my question is dose anyone have experience with these and know what is the best one for my needs??          Regards     Patrick

Tropical Fruit Discussion / iron treatment ???
« on: October 21, 2017, 03:10:16 PM »
Hi All, sometimes i get to thinking not often tho , for the people who live in areas with NO or very low iron in the soil rather than buying all the stuff and have to keep putting it on all the time, could you not just take scrape rebar and knock it down in the ground and call it a day??? i would think that it would last almost forever, its easy to comeby almost any large construction job where they use concrete and rebar will have lots of it scrap.             Patrick

Tropical Fruit Discussion / mycorrhizal inoculant
« on: September 19, 2017, 01:44:12 PM »
Hi all, i have heard / read a lot on this however how do you know if what you buy is even alive i bought a bag of  "Mykos pure Mycorrhizal inoculant "in the spring and used it in my raised beds and some potted plants i also used it in my potting mix for my seedlings, the thing is when i dig in to these i see no signs of any growth , so 3 weeks ago i took 2 cups of very moist Alfalfa pellets along with 2 heaping tablespoons of inoculant  and i put it in a coffee can with a lid and a couple holes in it, i see NO GROWTH YET.so my question is how do you test this stuff when you buy it to know if it is alive or not ??         Regards       Patrick
