I plan to go, but not sure where I will stay.  Looks like Central Coast CA is even more expensive then San Diego in August.

Yeah, I saw others post about that too. Someone said they'll stay a little farther and drive to the location.

Fang & Brian I was looking at site yesterday myself checking for errors and saw that Sands hotel in SLO in lower in price, that's where we will have Friday night welcome get to gather! Just looked it's Sands Inn & Resort check it out otherwise best to go south to Arroyo Grande or even Pismo Beach! Good luck ;)

Sorry Guys just was told by Wife that the Sands Inn is full best to go South like I said earlier it's only about 20 miles South of SLO :(

There is also Morro Bay which has several small motels and Morro Bay State Park which has camping spaces for RVs.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I figured in a worst case I would drive in from SLO or Goleta.  I can do hour and a half drives, but would just be a pain in the ass especially in the evening.  In a super worse case I would just drive in for a day I guess.  I really want to see some of th tours probably since SLO is getting "north" and probably closer to the tpye of stuff I can grow.  Kind of wish it wasn't being held during peak tourist season.

SLO is the site of the festival.

Lots of reasonable hotels away from the ocean/beaches.  Santa Maria to the south is 1/2 hour away from SLO by the 101 freeway as is Paso Robles/Atascadero to the north.  Paso Robles will be hot in August and Santa Maria will still be cool due to prevailing winds.  The 1/2 hour drive from either location to SLO is beautiful.
