No luck here either, mine were destroyed as well. Obviously not the sellers fault but super bummed. :'(

Big brother stole my seeds.  I hate the government.  Nothing but over reach in everything they do.

Raul, next time label it as religous beads.

Seeds came through to south Florida in excellent condition!
Raul forgot one seed but this is not my first time ordering with him and I know he’ll make it right!
Didn’t know others had issues so I’m grateful my order passed customs
Raul is the man!

REALLY saddened to hear of the losses - especially with no apparent rhyme or reason, since I too received Raul's shipment undisturbed, unopened - near as I can tell.

Sorry too for Raul - since it renders his tremendous sense of good faith useless.

By the way when BP and customs agriculture department confiscates this stuff, they send you the package without the seeds with a letter in it listing the laws you broke and saying "possible fines and jail time blah blah blah".

You got to put something besides Semillas on the description or they take it.  Rosary beads would be better.

Thankfully, mine just arrived in the mail just as ordered. First time ordering anything out of country. How often would you guys say U.S. customs find and destroy seeds? I probably would have bought more but wanted to play it safe.

Thank You Raul, time to go see if my noob-self can get these guys to germinate.

last time they made it from raul.

you should let your seeds dry and sit for 9 months before trying to germinate.  i know others will say thats not the case, but trust me at least save some and do that.

Not going to rant about the gov because boy do I hate some gov, wish we had an actual free market. Sorry to hear about the losses in here. My packaged arrived untouched yesterday and seeds look great. Thank you for what you do Raul.

Just for reference 4/4 past packages arrived fine so far from him over the last year or so of ordering so I'm pretty lucky I guess. As always excellent quality seeds. Raul you rock!

Yes its true, you can search about germinating llama seeds.  If you try it now without luck, you will remember this conversation and try again in 9 months with better luck.

Ilama takes a long time to germinate, and many use gba to stimulate and facilitate the process.

If Brad has a natural way (9 month dry wait), would certainly listen and give it a try.

Just enough time to have a baby in the mean time.

Mine was labeled Semillas too. I got the same letter saying the laws I’d broken. Nearly 60 seeds down the toilet. Such a shame. I was planning on using these genetics to start an Ilama breeding project. Had plans for these seeds for years to come. Which is unique, this is really the first step into breeding I was going to do. So any other loss would have stung less than this one. I’m hoping to figure something out so it’s not a total loss but I’ll probably have to get the small lots permit and order again, eating the loss entirely.

Sucks that i’m not the only one, but on some level i’m glad i’m not feeling this pain alone.

they sprount right away if you leave them dry to age.  i think it has to do with their natural dry season length and embryo development.  i posted something about it a few months ago.  search for llama germination.  using chemicals is totally unnecessary.  I sprouted some after 2 years dry and all speouted within 1-2 weeks.

"Beads" not seeds sounds like the way to go.

Sux losing seeds/plants/scions/whatever in shipping. Has happened to me a few times now. Lost considerable amounts of $ too.

Lost an AeAe nanner plant due to whacko usps issues last year, along with a few others.

Had seeds confiscated from out of country, complete with legal threats as others have reported.

Imaging cellmate 1 asking cellmate 2, "Whatchu in for?"

Cellmate 2, "Semillas man."

Cellmate 1, "You too?"

I am very sorry for all the confiscated seeds. In my opinion if you order only a few seeds, then cutoms will no notice it or bother about, but if the amount of seeds is bigger, then the risk of loosing it increases...

the quantity doesnt matter really.  i only ordered 12 seeds.  im sure they were clean and dry and posed 0 threat to this country.  Its ok if 100,000 people walk accross our southern borders unchecked each month though.  As long as we keep out their fruit seeds!

In my perfect world, public servants in customs would contact the recipient and make sure the seeds pose no threat and then decide if they look clean and safe instead of just tossing them and threatening us with legal action.  Of course that would make too much sense!!!

I dream of a world in which common sense, knowledge, science, and reason drive decision making. I keep dreaming.

...and re-ordering seeds
