First Banana Bloom! Supposedly Blue Java
« on: December 12, 2022, 01:47:30 PM »
Hey All-

Jest received a fabulous picture from the place in Houston-

This will be our first rack of Bananas coming in, quite worried about them making it through the winter- but have a few other pups around it that will hopefully bloom at a more favorable part of the year.

I have heard that this variety needs propping but I am not there, so I am not sure I will be able to

It’s looking like the real blue java! Congrats. I can confirm 100% as the bunch develops.

Dang always sucks when storms drop em. My whole farm got reset again this year! That’s 2 (once in a lifetime winters) in 3 years! That sucks is other than that one night it hit 16f it’s been really mild!

You can pretty much confirm it’s the real blue java. I’m 95%+ sure. Everything looks right. It’s for sure not namwa or a Pisang awak type which is usually the “fake bj”. It would have to end up being something fairly rare to look that much like bj at that stage. So your good.
