Pepino Melon

Pepino Melon is like eat a little sweet melon.  Not to bad.

I like the fruit but it seems to be the #1 target of ants and mealy bugs. Hard to control that at my place.

I don't have mealybugs issue, but I have red spiders mites.  I spray Neem oil when it is out of control, otherwise I just cutting the leafs when I spot them.

Mine has no pest issue. Its grown in ground and very vigorous

Had nematode issues with the roots on mine here in south Florida. Planted from seed last June and put in the ground in August. They were growing slowly through the fall/winter and hanging in there in spring, only to get very wilty and stressed with the early heat of summer.

Cut a branch and grow it in the pot.  It is very easy to root.

I will try again with seeds in fall as my plant succumbed to the heat and nematodes about a month ago. This time we'll try a pot or shady spot.

I can never seem to get them to grow from seed. I would like to buy some cuttings from a sweet cultivar.
