According to Rob, this Zill introduction was also known as O-2.

From a previous discussion it sounds like a richly-flavored mango, but I can't tell you anything else yet except that Linda Wilson said it is very good.

I saw the new varieties Ray brought back from Zills...I was surprised to see how many new names there were!

I bet they are all very nice.

I saw lemon zest, peach cobbler, pineapple pleasure, juilete, and even an ugly betty? and a few others I forgot.

Anybody here other than me had experience with sunrise? Mine have been ultra productive and very delicious. Little 5 to 6 foot trees pumping out a dozen mangoes a piece. Some up to a pound and half. Juicy with a nice sweet and spicy flavor with a bit of tang. Love that mango.

Is there any mango that Gary has released which isn't awesome?? Pina Colada, Sunrise, Coco cream, Lemon Zest, ... it's like mango heaven!

All the ones I saw at Jeff's were in pots and producing impressively. I've never tried this mango....... to my memory anyway. I had to get one and plant it out at my house.

They're pretty much all delicious in their own way. Sunrise is a terrific mango with a slight-to-moderate resin note similar to that of Bombay.

Both! I donj't have any potted sunrise trees left after the big sale, but every single one had several fruits on it. The in-ground tree (which is strategically placed in my neighbor's yard just a few feet from property line) is also loaded. I went ahead and planted another on my property too :-).

Looks like my list for next seasons trip south is started already. Need to get a sunrise. Sounds like the type I would really like. I like the strong resin/ spicy flavor types.

I'm hoping the one resting on my dresser will be better.

I know it's been a while but can you give a review of this one Mangomandan?

From what I have read this is a Kent X Gary, is dull green when ripe, and has a very rich flavor. Does anyone have any more information on this mango?

Actually I'd forgotten that I tasted a Peach Cobbler.

Unfortunately that time period is kind of a blank for me. I suspect I gave the second Peach Cobbler and other mangos to friends who came to visit my partner, who was very ill.

Maybe others will chime in. Alex said it's excellent. I mostly trust him, even though he likes some off-brand mango that starts with a W and isn't very good
