TM Red Jack Fruit

Anyone have their TM Red Jack Fruit Tree fruited yet? Excalibur was selling this few years ago. Mine is growing but no fruit yet. Mine have few male flowers. I am waiting to see the quality and color of the fruit.

Is it supposed to be a soft or firm fruit?

Thanks for the pics, beautiful tree. watiting to see the color of the fruit. Jackfruits normally takes about 6 months to mature.

Yeah, Its happened to so many people. I waited 5 years with my red morning and got yellow fruit.

I tried the few a few times a few years ago and it was probably the best tasting jackfruit I’ve ever had. Hopefully the fruit is consistently that good.

They look to be a large fruit variety. It’s already looking to be close to a 30lb fruit.

Yet to see a red jackfruit. They are deep reddish orange. Thanks to Mike T who commented on the non existence of the so called red jackfruits few years ago.

Timor red is not a great jackfruit IME.
And it does not have red arils IME.
The name is deceiving.

It’s cruchy.

It’s worse then a number of our random seedlings.
It’s no way close to amber in quality IME.

I am just saying this so that people don’t think it’s just their tree that isn’t good or meet up to hype etc.

Real “red” or “very dark orange” jack is really good IMO!
Like 10/10 and Timor is like 4/10.

At around 10cm girth the jackfruit tree will be able to hold a fruit to maturity and should be flowering,IME.
And thats anything from 2-3 years from seed sown for a seedling.
But depends on environment.
Usually young tree’s don’t give good flavour if many fruits are kept on.
We thin out the fruit early on for young tree’s.

I’ve been following this thread as I have a TMR tree that just fruited for the first time this year. Unfortunately, it’s at a rental home and I don’t go there often. I went today and saw that 1 of the 2 fruits were rotten, so I went ahead and picked the other, but it appears I picked the other one prematurely, so I don’t think it will be a good example. Nonetheless, here’s some pics.

Thanks for the pictures. At least you catch one of them before its get spoiled. That fruit is mature. Just give few days to ripe. I can see little bit colors on the bulbs. Hopefully its red.

I was able to cut up my jack and I’m pretty sure I have the real thing. Even coming from a neglected tree and picked early, it’s one of if not the best jackfruits I’ve had, especially the darker/ riper bulbs from the bottom. The latex was minimal but there was an average amount of rag.
