There are three kinds of shixia: yellow shell shixia, green shell shixia, and Gong powder shell shixia. The best tasting fruit is yellow shell shixia, and longan is a prolific fruit tree like lychee.

So to be clear, Shixia means longan? And according to the descriptions you mentioned, appearance differs depending on the variety.
