Jaboticaba is in full shade?

(1/4) > >>

The Herb Swamp:
Hey, has anyone grown Jaboticaba’s in full but bright shade as in a patio that’s shaded for most of the day, but can still see the skyline and shadows are still present?

Wondering if I can grow them on my patio which does get about 2 to 3 hours of morning sun, but is shaded past about 12 o’clock and filtered sun outside of those 2 to 3 hours before noon.

Which jaboticaba should I try in this environment that would actually give me some decent fruit set. I’m also open to Eugenia’s or other fruit trees that might thrive in this environment, but would prefer a Jabo.

Coconut Cream:
Yesterday I ate a handful of jaboticaba fruit off a tree in 100% shade under the canopy of surrounding bananas. I think they prefer shade.

Nice! No full sun at all? Which type do you have?

gnappi:
My little Red Jabo is in the shade against my house and while it's slow growing it always has fruit on it.

Good to know. Nice! I’m thinking of getting Plinia Aureana.
