How can this statement be true? The largest collection of Citrus fruit tree's in the world are at an Arboretum on Ua Huka Island , Population 674 , in  the Marquesas Islands? Hmmmmm

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Garcinia ID ~ Lemon drop kind

A friend gave a couple fruits without ID. They are slightly fuzzy and bigger than any Lemon Drop mangosteen I tried before.
Also not nearly as sour. Not very sour at all in fact.
It was so big I thought it was maybe an Abiurana until I cracked it open while driving for a snack and was pleasantly surprised.
See here pictured next to some lilikoi and canistel.

I am driving from Orlando to Homestead Sunday and was hoping a forum friend or orchard stand would have some early season Mango I can buy?
A friend shared some Edwards when I got into town,  so that got me on the early season hunt.

I harvested a bunch of Cherimoya to share with anyone that I link up with.

I can source 1 gallon M. Californica rootstock for $20 a piece from a nursery.
I know they are around and hopefully everyone that needs them can find them at one of your local nurseries.
I could likely fit 4 in usps priority large package , depending on the root mass and plant structures.
I haven’t seen the plants so can’t speculate.
If anyone cannot find these locally and is interested in a 4 pack shipped to you for around $110 including the shipping, let me know in this thread.
If there are 5-10 people interested then I could potentially make this happen in the next few weeks.

I have done a little bit of micro grafting Jaboticaba.
It seems like only hardwoods are even possible to micrograft.
I had been having a hard time securing my micro graft unions with plant tie tape that I normally use on any “non bendable” graft , usually larger wood.

I normally use para film but I have a roll of buddy tape and have found it easier for wrapping thinner scions. It covers it with less layers making it easier for the bud to break through.

Also securing these micro graft unions with buddy tape has felt much more secure than the plant tie tape, as buddy tape has a little but more tension and holding power to it than parafilm.

What do other micro grafters do to secure the graft union?

What fruits besides Jaboticaba do people micro graft?

Babaco is a seedless mountain papaya that is seedless and only propagates from cutting’s.
I have some 2” plus thick pieces for $10 a piece plus shipping.
