For sale is a 42" tall Sweet Soursop double grafted onto a normal Soursop tree. The mother tree has not fruited for me yet and I received the seeds (2019) from member Radoslav from Slovakia where the mother tree has fruited indoors in his apartment.

Cuttings are rooted in gritty mix and then bare rooted upon up potting to a 4x9 tree pot with fresh soil.

I thought I'd share this with people who couldn't handle the GA3 method. I've been experimenting with ways to germinate super hard seeds like those of Ilama's. Below are 2 ways anybody could do to germinate Ilama seeds in about 3 weeks without messing with GA3. And by germinating I mean the root starts to come out. It take a few more days for the seedling to pop out of the soil.

Both methods use a common setup:
  • Heat mat
  • Tupperware or plastic sheobox
  • 2 inches of Coco coir

  • This first method is the quickest as the seeds germinate in about 2 weeks
    . Completely dry the seeds
    . Gently crack the seeds with a seed cracker or plyer. Same method use for Mamey seeds.
      The idea is to create a small opening to let humidity in SLOWLY to wake up the seeds
      DO NOT CRUSH THE SEEDS when cracking them
  • This second method is slower as it'd take about 3 weeks. Canistel seeds work great with this method as well.
    . Remove the seed husk completly
    . Cover only half of the seed

My first experience with the USDA Germplasm is just ... Great!  What about yours, if you had dealt with them before?

For the story, I requested some cuttings of Violette de Bordeaux fig late October 2012 and just got one cutting TODAY by UPS from USDA Davis. I would want maybe 2 more but I get it that demands are overwhelming. And this is all free even the shipping. Overall, this was a great experience.

As of now, I'm waiting for a few more on some Annonas cuttings. :)

Hi All,

I've received this photo from a friend who goes to Cambodia regularly and she happened to snap this one on a quick visit to one of the temples. Is this a wild fig or something, can someone please help identify this fruit tree? This is all I have from my friend. I guess I have to go myself to check this out. :)

Generally, plant grafting consists of aligning the cambium of the scion with that of the rootstock. But with bark grafting, there is 0 alignment of the cambium and yet it works.

How is this possible? Anybody cares to explain or speculate?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Bizarre Sugar Apples Seeds

Below is a picture of salvaged seeds I recovered from my order to Farm Tropical. They are from crushed fruits both purple and green.
Upon cleaning the seeds from the flesh, I noticed some green SA seeds that seem to be starting to sprout or something. They have some sort of fiber coming right out of the pointed end which is quite hard to pull off.

A look at the picture below, far right, explains better what I'm trying to say here.

Anybody has any idea what this could be?
I have immediately sowed thes strange seeds, just for testing because I don't need any more of these. We'll see if they sprout quicker or not, if they will ever sprout at all.

Is there a difference between Kampong Mauve and Red/Purple Sugar Apples? If so, what would that be, beside size as in FGM's Big Red?
