I’ve been looking for a couple 40-60 gal pots and I can’t find any that aren’t over $70.

This company's quality of everything I've gotten from them has impressed me, The largest I have from them is 30 gallons and they are great. thick but breathable (i prefer fabric pots but that's just me, I promise they hold up)

They also have some pots with velcro built into one side that lets you transplant without shocking at all. SUPER useful, and very sturdy as far as fabric goes

I have found some good used large ones a couple of times on FB Marketplace.  Also, while I have never tried it, I have heard of people searching out Commercial tree installers that are doing local jobs for places that want the instant tree look and asking to buy the pots as the installation is going on.  This also happens with mid to higher end subdivisions.  Find out the location forman for a residence that is getting close to completion and ask who is supplying the landscaping and call them directly.  I understand that some don't even want to be bothered bringing back the empty pots as they are so light and can blow off going down the road becoming a hazard.

If you go to any nursery, they usually have mountains of plastic pots around.
I go to a place that lets me take as many one or two gallon pots as I can carry for ten cents each.

The side of the road.

Particularly after spring planting, my neighborhood and the surrounding area has tons of pots out for streetside brush/bulk trash collection. They range from the cheapest, flimsiest plastic pots to some of the highest quality plastic pots you can get, as well as the occasional terra cotta or ceramic (I tend to get those at yard and estate sales). Most of these pots are relatively small, but I do tend to get two or three a year that are 30-40 gallons.

I picked up a couple 45 gallon heavy duty pots at VAS Agricultural Supply on Krome last year. I paid $15 max for each. Prices may have increased but they won't be $70. Good luck.

I use 247garden.com for fabric pots of all sizes. I also buy treepots and airpots clones off amazon. For cheap plastic pots for vegetable starts etc., I buy from dollartree or 99 cents stores.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
