Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / WTB Eugenia Species
« on: March 28, 2022, 02:05:35 PM »
I am most interested in the Eugenia genus because of them being most favorable in pot culture, right now I have:

Eugenia Repanda
Eugenia Selloi
Eugenia Mattosii
Eugenia Brasiliensis
Eugenia Itaguahiensis
Eugenia Parkeriana

I’m mostly looking for Eugenia sp. that have a good pulp to seed ratio and do well in pots.

3
Wanted to ask this since both E. Parkeriana and E. Pitanga both
have multiple similarities to Uniflora, including leaves and fruits.

4
Looking for these two eugenias to add to my collection, feel free to pm me if you have them! ;D

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / WTB sapindaceae
« on: November 19, 2021, 10:17:31 AM »
Right now I’m looking for some rare sapindaceae, mainly from the talisia genus, and melicoccus genus, where can I find some seeds of these?

At first it seemed discouraging that cerrado species needed specific acidities and water, and that they have a large amount of potassium nitrogen and phosphate. But I still want to try! ;D
What are your recommendations for keeping a cerrado species alive?

7
I am planning to grow these two species, anyone know where I can find them?

Anyone know of some nice rare myrtaceae for pot culture?
Ones I’m planning to try are E. Matosii and E. Beaurepairiana, and E. Sulcata.

Any others that I should know about? ??? Please tell me! ;D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Can this feijoa be saved?
« on: October 24, 2021, 11:15:37 AM »
I have two feijoas that I got online, one is very healthy and sturdy, and this other one completely died after a day, probably due to complications from shipping :'(
But I’ve noticed some new growth on it now, do you think it can be saved?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Eugenia Complicata - Murta Azul
« on: October 23, 2021, 11:40:30 PM »
Might as well start a thread on this beauty! ;D
This Eugenia has beautiful leaves from what I’ve seen,
and they even have an interesting blue pulp!

It’s a native to the cerrado and reportedly has a good taste,
I might get some seeds from Bellamytrees and see how they do.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Myrciaria Asa-Grayii / Plinia Asa-Grayii
« on: September 08, 2021, 04:00:55 AM »
This jaboticaba relative seems very interesting. It has rigged, purple fruits and has a very unique taste. Not much information on the species itself though. Has anyone tried growing this interesting species? ???

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Eugenia Sulcata
« on: August 27, 2021, 09:00:59 PM »
Hello, I’ve found a Eugenia of interest that is a small, red/black, tasty fruit. I found an old website that documented the ways to cultivate, propagate, and grow the plant in question. It is called pitanga-una, and has a thin, black skin to it. Has anyone else ever heard of this interesting species? ???

Hello,

I’ve been getting REALLY into eugenias as of late because of how easy they germinate, and the fruits themselves. Does anyone have any eugenias I don’t have? I find it confusing to import seeds into the US from other continents… ??? anyone inside US borders with some rare eugenias?

Best regards,
Adam
